VeeamON 2024 - Use Code "COMMUNITY10" for 10% Off!
the hd's are always on the same usb input, so i think the usb shouldn't be the problem
how could i run the service installer on my pc?
veeam is an agent for windows, and yes, on my pc the hd's are via usb
the backups were running without error, until the error of not connecting with the service installer appeared
the error occurs in the backup that works as follows:On a pc the agent veeam is running, and on my pc are the hd's, every week I change these hd's, and they are not on the pc where the agent veeam is because the machine doesn't support usb 3.0, that's why the backup runs on my PC
Good afternoon everyone, after several tests in the last 15 days I think everything worked, that's what I needed to configure. Thanks to everyone involved.
Okay, I'll test it here, any questions I'll come back to this post. Thank you all.
Hello @SeguraTI , if I understand your scenario correct, you are using two backup jobs at the moment. One for each external hard disk. This will not work, because the two jobs do not know from each other and will each start a backup chain. You could have a look a repositories with rotating diskshttps://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/backup_repository_rotated.html?ver=110 This could be the scenario you are looking for... where can i find this option? "To use rotated drives, you must enable the This repository is backed by rotated hard drives option in the advanced settings of the backup repository"is it in the backup job settings?
Debian 10 + 11 are both supported and tested with the latest veeam versions: Veeam Backup & Replication v11a: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/platform_support.html?ver=110 Veeam Agent for Linux 5.0: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agentforlinux/userguide/system_requirements.html?ver=50 Okay, thanks a lot guys for the support. A great week for us!!
Veeam Agent for Linux 4.0 is the last veeam agent which supports Debian 8. https://helpcenter.veeam.com/archive/agentforlinux/40/userguide/system_requirements.html For vm backups which uses application aware processing, Veeam Backup & Recovery V10 was the last version with support for Debian 8: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/archive/backup/100/vsphere/platform_support.html VMs with crash consistent backups are supported in all Veeam Backup & Replication versions as long the hypervisor supports Debian 8 as a vm guest operating system. Thanks Fabian If I use Debian 10, can I do backups smoothly? And if I want to use version 11, which is now stable, does Veeam back up?
guys it worked!!!! It was just updating the version. So I need to change the default backup repository, the problem is that it is gray, I can't change it. What is the location that changes this option? I'm on the Backup Infrastructure tab. Glad an update worked 😉 What are you trying to change? @Chris.Childerhose @JMeixner @Link State I managed to solve it. Thank you so much to everyone involved for your help, may we all have a great week.

Good afternoon, is there a way to export the settings from my old VBR server to the new one?
@JMeixner is my computer with Windows 7 professional, VBR 11.0.1.1261 P20211123 Try upgrading to the latest patch as that is an older version from last year. Latest patch is here - KB4245: Release Information for Veeam Backup & Replication 11a Cumulative Patches See if that helps at all. Ok, I will also migrate the server to a better machine, then I install the latest version.I will migrate the server today, if the error occurs, I will contact you again.
@Chris.Childerhose the Server is my own pc
