There are more snapshot of this VM present. Is this intended? This should not be the cause of your problem, but you should consider to consolidate your snapshots. As we face this same stuck issue at the first time and we had to force stop it then we created the backup job again on another Veeam server but it seems the same issue, It cannot read the 1st Disk which is the OS disk.

Along with the logs I would check what apps using SQL have their database on this server. Maybe they are preventing the backup possibly and you could stop them for the backup. Server is only running Veeam
Is only this job having this problem? And if so, is it a managed by agent or managed by server job? I tried with both but the same error

Hi, that says it’s trying to use WMI to access, which if you’re saying you’ve got the firewalls disabled on ALL nodes, you should be fine, but I’d check the WMI service is running on all nodes. Next I’d also check that within the guest OS credentials section if you have a default “master” and then have configured overriding credentials for individual objects that one of the two conditions is true: Master credentials are the appropriate account, with no overriding credentials configured for any individual nodes or the cluster name Master credentials are not the appropriate account, but overriding credentials configured for the cluster and nodes where appropriate. Can you grab the logs from the Veeam server please, rather than event viewer. Default location: C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup I found this access is denied error but i’m pretty sure the credentials are correct. The message after the messages you have marked says “Check if you have local admistrator privileges on computer xxx" Do you have them with the account Veeam uses? Yes it uses a domain admin user account and have access to each node.
To troubleshoot outside of Veeam, you could try the following on the VBR server: Install the Failover-Cluster Powershell Module: Install-WindowsFeature -Name RSAT-Clustering-Powershell Get the cluster object from AD (cluster needs to be reachable as well): Get-Cluster -Name myClusterName Get the cluster nodes from AD and their status from the cluster directly: Get-ClusterNode -Cluster myClusterName If all goes well, this should output the name and status of the cluster nodes. In my lab it looks like this: Name State Type---- ----- ----cn1 Up Nodecn2 Up Node If this doesn’t work, there must be an issue outside of Veeam, and the Powershell error messages might direct you to the root cause. To clean up, you can remove the PS module afterwards: Remove-WindowsFeature -Name RSAT-Clustering-Powershell (reboot is required to complete the removal process) Cluster is working fine.

The error message indicates there‘s a problem with the VBR server connecting the AD DC while trying to query the AD cluster object for the cluster nodes. Have you checked firewall restrictions between those as well? Firewall is disabled. I tried to change the DC but still the same issue.All AD ports are opened.EDIT: I’m able to add Hyper-V hosts using the AD credentials and they’re added successfully but while adding a cluster object it’s not working.

Did you install Veeam Backup & Replication on the Hyper-V server itself - or on another system? It may work that way -but is not a good idea. Veeam is installed on a separate server.

Is the Hyper-V server on the domain? Can you try with the built-in Administrator account? Yes it’s on DomainI tried with the build-in Administrator account but didn’t work, also tried to create a local user with administrative privileges but didn’t work.

Can you test recovery via the source VBR to see if it can even read the backup? That’ll cut through a huge amount of potentially wasted time on whether it’s an access issue, or version issue etc. If the Veeam installation that created the backup can’t read it, then we’ve cut out a lot of troubleshooting. Well, the reason for all of this was that the DC went down including the Veeam BR servers and we got only the DataDomain available that holds the Veeam backups.But luckily I got a call two hours ago that they got be able to make the DC up and running again. I checked the Veeam BR source and found the job for that corrupted backup was failed so i think thats why it shows this message because of it was not finished. Thank y’all for support.
@m.saleh Good point from @MicoolPaul. The VBR Version of the new VBR Server (or extract utility) must be the same or a higher version as the one who has created the backup. Or the file cannot be opened. I recommend to transfer the 1.5TB with a usb drive to your location and then export the backup there. I wouldn’t do it over a instable connection. If it still is “corrupted”, best to ask veeam support to have a look at the file. The VBR server version i guess it’s the same or higher. Yes. the backup was transferred (copied) first to the location where we restore at.
@m.salehare you trying to read the files over WAN or are you copying them to the other DC first? If you attempt to recover the backup locally into the same DC, do you get the error? Is this one VBR environment or two? No, I’m copying the backups first to the other DC and start the recovery.I couldn’t restore over WAN cuz got some network issues with the DataDomain so the easiest way was to copy the backups and it’s working but got this error with that VM only.
