VeeamON 2024 - Use Code "COMMUNITY10" for 10% Off!
@coolsport00 ,Thank you for sharing, When individuals who lack experience or expertise in a certain area rely on AI to make critical decisions, it can have negative consequences. For instance, when AI is used to determine the security status or posture of a system or to fix a security issue, it may overlook certain inputs if it is not configured properly or if it is fed incorrect data. This can result in significant security breaches or failures that can damage an organization's reputation or even lead to financial losses. In another scenario where a programmer in a company uses AI to generate code, it raises an intriguing question - what kind of suggestions or code would the same AI system create for the competitors of that company? This could lead to a legal battle over intellectual property rights and there could be a massive bug or issue out in the wild that could impact not just the company, but also its customers or partners.
@vAdmin - you bring up some good points...very good points...about mis-programmed AI tools. Of course, once determined, they can be corrected. But, at what cost for the error? Then there are intellectual, property, copyright infringements..some of which have already occurred (thus why I brought up my education entity). Yes...very concerning points to ponder. Thanks for the insight/input. @coolsport00 ,Thank you for the kind reply,Yes, exactly my concerns about high reliance on the AI in the future can be very dangerous like in https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9603212 🙄 or other defiant AI robot.
Thanks @andyredman , yes it is interesting read indeed @Chris.Childerhose .
Hi @Geoff Burke ,That is surely very interesting seminar indeed.Would you be able to share the findings or some key take away here ?
@Geoff Burke ,Yes that is true, I have seen it in my own company a while ago and it is getting more prevalent in the cutting edge or the highly competitive industry such as AI. Here’s one of the major case announced recently: https://www.theverge.com/2024/3/6/24092750/google-engineer-indictment-ai-trade-secrets-china-doj
Thank you @coolsport00 ,Yes, somehow this is important and may impact anyone using Linux as the Veeam Backup hardened repository.
@coolsport00 ,Some of the preventative measure I can think of:Do not allow vCenter Web Console access over the internet. Do not use NFS as the VM datastore.Hopefully others can also help sharing the preventative measure.
Thank you @dips for sharing.I’ll add some more for the resources I’ve subscribed to:tl;dr sec (tldrsec.com) SANS @RISK CIS Advisories (cisecurity.org)
Wow, that’s great script, thank you @damien commenge for sharing.
Thank you @JMeixner, this is very good and concise explanation of the whole backup strategy in a page.
Thank you for sharing @Stabz ,Yes, this may not be the problem when not restoring under the pressure, but yes, manual testing is still required to uncover this type of bottleneck.
Wow, this is great and cool usage scenario, thank you @MicoolPaul, @Cassandra Faris and @SteveHeart for sharing.
Thank you @ericeberg for sharing, looking forward for the part II.
Thanks @SteveHeart , this is so cool.
Thank you for organizing and creating this hub @coolsport00 👏🏽
I’d try with:The virtual disk is an independent disk
Distributed
Oh wow, thank you for the sharing @dips ,Veeam is now targeted since it is the market leader of the backup software. Standing at the peak of the mountain, you become visible to all and the wind blows harder
We had enabled both options and didn't have the folder Malware_Detection_Logs… Is it created after something was found only? Wow, that could also be the reason @JMeixner .
Backup jobs do not have Guest File System Indexing enabled
