First question for this week is below. Let’s get to it! Remember to hide your comments!

For security reasons, you are choosing to quiesce your Backup Job VMs via pre-freeze/post-thaw scripting. For successful execution, where must you place the scripts used in your Backup Job?

  1. Mount Server
  2. Repository
  3. On the VM in the C:\Scripts folder
  4. On the Veeam Backup Server

Alright Community..let’s get to those answers to all of this week’s questions. For this 1st question, see below…

Show content

This is just a simple knowledge question of where pre/post scripts are to be placed to run successfully for Veeam Jobs. The answer is d. On the Veeam Backup Server. 2 BONUS questions → What is the code for successful script execution? Non-scripting question → What file is needed on Mount Servers for security purposes, and why is it used?…

Answer to BONUS questions: A success code returned would be a 0. For the 2nd part, it had nothing to do with scripting, but was still a bit vague. What files are placed on Mount Servers for “security purposes”? Specifically, the AntivirusInfos.xml is what I was looking for. And, what is this used for? Secure Restore; Scanning within Virtual Labs; and Scan Backup feature.

@Dynamic - my 2nd question part was too vague. Re-read it and see if you can figure it out (it is meant to be a little cryptic 😊)

@coolsport00 i don't get it. I see no reason why the mount server should have special files for running pre/post scripts. Or i don’t understand the question in total, help 😅

@Dynamic - reread it...the question is a non-scripting question. I was hoping that would help 😊

 This is a very wild guess, but I think the files needed are decryption files to ensure that the mount server has access to the files being mounted to it

@Phumudzo - that's not it...but it does have to do with security. Think A/V 😊

I added the answer to my bonus questions above. Don’t worry if you didn’t get it...at least the 2nd one. It was vague. Have a good weekend everyone!
