I get the next error to tried to configure a VEEAM Location Profile in Kasten

Status:
  Error:

Yes that is correct. At this point in time you can only export snapshot data to a Veeam repository if your storage class is Vsphere csi.

@Madi.Cristil @safiya - please move this to the Kubernetes Korner board for better assistance.

Should be K10 support :)

@

  • egutierrez You can only use Veeam as a location profile if you are leveraging the Vsphere csi driver for your storage. Even then you will need a regular location profile for metadata.

If you are using Vsphere CSi then you need to add that as an Infrastructure Profile.

What is your storage class on Openshift?

Hi @Geoff Burke ,

Thanks for response, I have two storage class, for test i have a NFS storageClass and for production Ia have ceph radosgw storageClass, I not have anything for vSphere.

I have a question… can’t i export or integrate with VBR if I don’t use vSphere? My goal is to send the policies to tapes.

Regards,

Hi @Geoff Burke , this is no longer true, right?

Can I use any compatible storage class?

It has changed a bit. You can now export PVCs in block mode. Let me dig up the docs.

Ok, got it.

Anyway, I still need external storage (not VBR repo) for exporting everything that is not PVCs (metadata, artefacts, etc.), correct?

yes otherwise it is just leaving snapshots on the cluster which is not good. By the way I just watched the webinar about Kasten 8.5, big stuff coming, Kubevirt vm FLR and container FLR. Then there is AI backup. They knew their stuff about AI as well. I was very pleased and impressed.
