Hello,

I install VBR on the DR site and in the job i can see this message

‘1/2/2025 2:47:59 AM :: No available proxies are running on ESXi management interface subnet. Using proxies from a different subnet, performance may be impacted  ‘

Some one can help me to make more understanding about that message, how we can improve the performance?

Then it’s as I say, the proxy is pulling data over the site to site connection, then performing compression & dedupe before writing to your backup repository.

You should consider a proxy in the production site so it can make more effective use of bandwidth by only sending the reduced amount of data over the Link, and a local backup repository to improve restoration speeds rather than restoring data over the site to site Link to production, then a backup copy off site

Hi,

Im guessing you haven’t deployed any other proxies. If your only proxy is in the DR site then It is having to perform backup via the site to site Link, typically higher latency and reduced throughput vs local network

hi @MicoolPaul

yes no other proxy since i install VBR with all the component in single server.

Sometimes if i monitor the bandwidth utilization, the backup speed is not fully use 100% of available bandwidth.

I always use the BP site for Proxy information which should also help explain the placement of them - https://bp.veeam.com/vbr/2_Design_Structures/D_Veeam_Components/D_backup_proxies/vmware_proxies.html
