Hi there,Veeam B&R 12 is installed on a Windows 2022 Server, which is installed on VMWare ESXi 6.5 U3. From there I backup our produtvie Server, which is a VMWare ESXi 6.7 with a Windows Server 2016 and a Windows Server 2012 R2 (Exchange Server) installed on it. Everything works fine, exept the backup of the Windows 2012 R2 Server. It does backup, but I receive the Warning “Failed to index guest file system. VSS Control: Index failed". Is there any way to fix this, except disabling the file indexing?
I learned a lot during the last few weeks about Veeam and I am kind of exited about this software. I resolved almost all problems, but there is still one issue I cant get a grip on. Ich have several backup jobs in a chain. No parallel Jobs. I have a lightning fast proxy (Veeam suggests a maximum of 24 parallel jobs). My persisting promlem is, that jobs get stuck absolutly randomly. Sure, after hours the stuck job fails, goes into retry1 and finishes successfull. But thats not satisfying… Is there anything I missed about jobs getting stuck? Just for your information: Jobs launch and run. They get stuck somewhere after 20%, 50% or 90%. So abolutly random… I recognized that the “veeam backup service” gets completly frozen. This service cant be stopped by anything else than a server restart.
I did a lot of testing with B&R 12 already and I learned a lot so far. But yesterday I ran into a new problem. I have my Backup Server which runs Veeam B&R 12 as domain administrator (using windows authentication to open and run Veeam). Then I have a backup repository on an other machine in my LAN. This machine is equiped with a Tandberg RDX drive. I run full backup jobs every day on these rotating drives. The job shall delete all backups on the disk and run a fresh full backup. This does not work for some reason. So I delete the RDX disks manually (via Windows scheduler) and considered this could be done with a Veeam Pre-Job-Script too. Well, it wont work. I use psexec64.exe to delete content on the machine with the RDX drive. The scipt (.cmd) I wrote works fine under my admin account. No problems when i launch it in cmd or simply double-click it. Script does what it shall do. For some reason this script does not work as Pre-Job-Script. I belive its a problem with a lack of pr
Sorry to bother the community again… but today i started to do restore-tests from successfull backups and ran into JetError -582. I cant find anything about this error. What I did:I tried to restore a single item from our scheduled exchange server backup. Everything worked until the database should have been opened. The backup I tried to restore from was the most recent and finished without warnings or errors. It was an incremental backup. 3 hours before the faulty backup I did a manual incremental backup too (just for testing). Restoring items from this backup was successfull. Is there a possibility to repair the faulty backup / database / missing logfiles? Will all further incremental backups be faulty? Will a full backup solve this problem?Thankes a lot in advance :)
For the second time in two days backup is stuck at 90 or 91 percent. Software is running, but the backup job is stuck in concrete. I restarted veeam, I restarted veeam services and backup server, nothing helped, its stuck. I have two servers to backup. yesterday backup was stuck in win2012r2 exchange server backup; today its the win2016 fileserver. today veeam backuped the data disk successfully, but the system disk not. the exchange server is on the system disk. maybe that info helps. it seems to be a problem with backuping windows (and not data).Case-Nr.05908107
