• Complete Immutability:

  • Supports object storage in Azure Blob, Amazon S3, and Wasabi.
  • Flexibility to set immutability for a custom period.

• Scalability and Performance:

  • Proxy Pools: Combine up to 150 backup proxies to protect up to 1 million objects.
  • Automated load balancing and scalability across Linux and Windows proxies.

• Architectural Changes:

  • PostgreSQL: Now a mandatory component for all product databases.
  • NATS Server: Used for scalable and distributed data processing.

• New Backup Features:

  • Support for shared and private Microsoft Teams channels backup.
  • Linux Backup Proxies: Red Hat and Ubuntu supported, simplifying infrastructure management.
  • Ready-to-Use Object Storage Repositories: Simplified setup process.
  • S3 One Zone-Infrequent Access storage class support.

• Management and Security Enhancements:

  • RBAC: Granular permissions for Veeam Backup console and MFA for admins.
  • OAuth 2.0 for secure email notifications.
  • Control over REST API endpoint availability.

• REST APIs Improvements:

  • Optimized restores and better session filtering.
  • Enhanced security with token invalidation on logout.

• Data Processing Improvements:

  • Resumable SharePoint backups.
  • Faster SharePoint site enumeration and more stable restore sessions.

• Important Changes:

  • Paid APIs for Teams channel messages backup.
  • Deprecation of Basic Authentication in favor of app-only authentication.

These features enhance scalability, performance, and security for Microsoft 365 backups, offering better protection and flexibility.
