Secure Cloud Storage with NEW Veeam Data Cloud Vault
Henry.Johnston

Veeam has recently released Veeam Data Cloud Vault. This service allows users to securely store their backup data off-site, while ensuring the data remains immutable and encrypted at all times. This provides an extra layer of protection for critical information, ensuring its integrity and security. The Veeam Vault is a pre-configured and fully managed cloud storage resource on Microsoft Azure that can be leveraged to store, manage, and access data in a predictably priced subscription model. The priced subscription model is based on a flat fee per TB of data, eliminating unexpected charges related to bill shock.

An overview with purchase options for Veeam Data Cloud Vault can be found through this link: Veeam Data Cloud Vault | Easy & Secure Cloud Storage

Key Capabilities:

  • Utilizes Microsoft Blob LRS Storage
  • Complements on-premises storage as part of the 3-2-1-1-0 rule
  • Fully managed Azure Storage to access and use on-demand
  • Pricing includes storage and API calls associated with writing to storage as well as, read and egress fees that come with recovery

Important Considerations:

  • This feature is available only for Veeam Backup & Replication 12.1.2 (build 12.1.2.172) or later
  • Immutability is set by default and cannot be disabled
  • Encryption must be enabled for every job that targets the Veeam Data Cloud Vault
  • Veeam Data Cloud Vault resides in the Azure Global region
  • Not manageable through the subscription for your Azure account

The Veeam Data Cloud Vault provides on-demand availability, durability, air-gapped option for storage and immutability. Users can purchase through the Azure Marketplace of by contacting your sales team.
