Greetings,

While upgrading from 6.0.3 to 6.0.6 catalog-svc cannot start.

I get the following error in logs

{"File":"kasten.io/k10/kio/catalog/artifact.go","Function":"kasten.io/k10/kio/catalog.(*Artifact).StatsDestroyed","Line":70,"cluster_name":"removed for privacy","error":{"message":"Negative duration for manifest","function":"kasten.io/k10/kio/catalog.calculateDuration","linenumber":234,"file":"kasten.io/k10/kio/catalog/manifest.go:234"},"hostname":"catalog-svc-5f986bd75-tp2w5","level":"error","msg":"error calculating manifest stats","time":"2023-09-07T10:42:50.633Z","version":"6.0.6"}

Same error for upgrading to 6.0.4 first

After almost 1 hour of catalog-svc pod trying to finish the init process, upgrade finished.

Version 6.0.6 up and running.

@dkats Thanks for your question and posting your answer here. We had a change in 6.0.4 that triggers a catalog database schema upgrade along with it. https://docs.kasten.io/latest/releasenotes.html#relnotes-6-0-4-upgrade-notes
During this schema upgrade, K10 would create a temporary database and upgrade all the entries in the database. The time taken for completion of this will depend on number of artifacts/manifests in the catalog database and its size.

Important note: it is required for you to have atleast 50% free space in catalog( and it is critical to ensure that 50% free space is available before upgrade)

Thank you for your reply.

I was familiar with that change but didn't expect to take so much time for the schema upgrade.

Everything is working great now.
