Backup Copy job runs forever

Logs for jobs in VBR are in the C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup\<job-name>.log file location. I’d start there. May be best to ping Veeam Support. You should be able to cancel a job by rt-clicking  and selecting “Stop”. You can choose either ‘immediate’ or ‘graceful’.

Hi @coolsport00 - Thanks for the super fast reply and the location of the log. This is a NFR license I use in my lab. Support is only free and they replied that at the moment they are very busy. The “stop” is greyed out, not active. No idea why.

You can stop the Veeam Backup Service. This will also close the Veeam Console so best to close it before doing so. 

BTW...stopping the Service will stop all Jobs so make sure no others are running.

Not sure. Don't think it's a Community Edition thing. You could ping Product Mgrs over at the Forums to check. 

As it’s a copy job, which is permanent active or lets say on standby, you should have the option to disable the job, isn’t it? 

Disabling doen't stop it while running though. Just prevents the Job from running at the next scheduled time to run. 

Yes I can disable the job - I believe a NFR license is fully functional and I asked the question for “stop session” in the R&D forum.

Can you share a screenshot of when it is taking up forever ?

Okay I find this in my log for the backup copy job for a VM, which has no progess since hours. It is in the task log. Another VM which is stuck as well has the same entries in the task log.

Stuck at action Hard Disk

Any idea? Is it my VMware environment? it’s ESXi 8.0.1. with Vcenter 8.0.3.

Do you use VBR 12.1.2.172 build ? This is the minimal version to support vcenter 8u3.

Firewall between backup repository and backup copy repository ?

What are your both repositories ? Are they on the same network ? 

Does it work if you try to do a backup to your backup copy repository ?

Okay - I did a full backup (not copy) to my backup copy respository. It ran sucessfully. I only backed up the VM which have problems with the backup copy job.

So - I think my backup copy repsitory is okay and the VM also. I narrow it down to the backup copy job. Yesterday I created a new one and it has the same problem.
