As part of my virtual VMUG tour, I submitted a session to the VMUG call for papers covering the subject of Data Protection for Tanzu Kubernetes workloads. (Most of this will apply for any Kubernetes environments).This was picked up by Erik at the Belgium VMUG for their UserCon in June 2021. Recently I’ve been testing and used Kasten K10 by Veeam. The container data management tool from Kasten. I must say I’ve been very impressed with the software and also the releases keep coming with more functionality.Below is the content I’ve posted on this over the past few months, and I’ve even been delighted to ask to present at a number of user groups for this, culminating at a Session for VeeamON! Over the past year I've been using the same application when demoing all things cloud native/Kubernetes.Pac-Man for KubernetesI noticed an issue at times I was having data-loss from the database when I backed up and restored the persistent volume using Kasten. Hi, You’ve probably seen these #100daysofX on twitter and other social medias. There is actually one for Kubernetes too… surprise surprise. Here is the twitter thread of one of the community members who kicked this off some time ago: So I thought I’d highlight it here, drum up some support if anyone is interested.I started this earlier in the year but then trailed off. As I missed updates per day and then fell behind. So now I’ve decided I’ll relaunch and I’ll just post updates for each “Day” listed, as and when I have them. So my 100 days will be spread out over a longer period, more like a 100 updates over the year! It’s really easy to get started. Find somewhere to post your updates, and when you post your updates use the hashtag on socials and wherever else you would like! It’s that simple. The obvious places to start would be using GitHub for tracking your effort. You can fork this repo, to get you started. And post on twitter (or others) with the hashtag as you add your updates.

After KubeCon, I had the chance to connect with Daniel Bryant, Head of DevRel at Ambassador Labs, and expand on his extremely popular KubeCon Session further.I wanted to take his session, and also give it a platform/infra focus, as this is the background and world I'm from in IT, along with a lot of customer teams I work with, and I assume I'm not alone in this. I think we gave enough coverage of the new cloud native concepts and linking this back to the changing skills of platform admin.My 25 minute marker soon ran over, and we recorded 47 minutes or so.
