The catalog server kept on showing me errors after a storage issue yesterday and backups weren’t running anymore. I recreated the catalog DB and Kasten is working again, but I have 500GB + in snapshots that are eating away at my Ceph cluster storage and no easy way to find and delete them. The snaps from Kasten should still be in volumesnapshots and volumesnapshotscontents inside K8.Does anyone have any ideas for me?
Hello Team, When creating a backup policy with export to external storage, a migration token is being created in form of a kubernetes secret in `kasten-io` namespace. The token can be then used in import policy, to migrate the data between two clusters.key values redacted for brevity. When we were trying to define the secret and token by ourselves, we received the following errors:It seems like the secret, apart from being base64 encoded is encrypted (perhaps using Kasten’s master key?), therefore, when it tries to decipher a custom secret, the result is an empty string. Is it possible to define custom migration token in backup policies? This would be helpful as we are deploying Kasten’s blueprints, policies, bindings etc. using Kustomize and instead of providing the plain receive string to the import policy, we would like to patch the receiveString using the custom token value from the secret as a target. Thanks in advance.
good day, the release notes of v 5.5.2 say that now it’s possible to hide applications from the dasboard by using an Helm flag. https://docs.kasten.io/latest/operating/monitoring.html#k10-compliance Since I’m pretty new to this stuff, I did not understand how can I exclude applications: should I edit a yaml in Openshift for kasten-io project (I’m running on oscp, sure) or shoud I export K10 settings with the command:# helm get values k10 --output yaml --namespace=kasten-io > k10_values.yamlthen edit file file k10_values.yaml adding the Flag and the app names to hide and then reconfigure k10# ??’ how? thanks!!!
Hello, how correct restore application when application is destroy and Kasten application too. How restore application when I haven't Kasten application ? I look how backup Kasten application but there isn't choose for Kasten backup. Thank for answer
Hello, We have K10 6.5 running with CSI storage provided by Dell Isilon CSI drivers. We have 4 storageClasses with this driver (csi-isilon.dellemc.com), each using different Isilon clusters and path. To match this, we have 4 VolumeSnapshotClasses with the same driver, but with different parameters. Using the Snapshot option from K8s (Openshift) is working ok.Kasten is not using the correct VolumeSnapShotClass for snpashotting the PersistentVolumes created on each storageClass. Here I provide 2 storageClasses and VolumeSnapshotClasses : StorageClass “isilon-infra”allowVolumeExpansion: trueapiVersion: storage.k8s.io/v1kind: StorageClassmetadata: annotations: k10.kasten.io/revalidated-at: '{"Status":"Failed","LastUpdateTime":"2024-01-16T16:11:47Z","Errors":["Failed to validate the storage class within the time period."]}' creationTimestamp: "2024-01-16T13:46:33Z" labels: vs.ch/dellcsi: vrai name: isilon-infra resourceVersion: "1207671684" uid: 7337136e-7f93-4bf5-ba94-9d888
Does K10 cluster-scoped resource backup include IngressClasses? Tried searching for an answer to this question but no dice. The reason is because our company re-installed an on-premises Rancher RKE2 cluster from scratch as part of a DR drill using Kasten K10 for data and application recovery. The recovery process was mostly smooth with a few minor gotchas but in particular, it seems that the cluster-scoped resource capture skipped the existing GitLab NGINX IngressClass despite having no resource filters applied - after restoring both cluster-scoped resources and our GitLab Chart, the IngressClass installed as part of the chart was missing causing the GitLab ingress controller to return NGINX 404 errors, which was solved with a manual Helm upgrade reusing the existing chart version and values. While this is a minor issue with a relatively simple workaround, we’d like to know whether K10 includes IngressClasses in its cluster-scoped resource backup by default, and if not, is there a way to
