Hi Everyone,
Looking for advice. I have never really looked at Nutanix, except for at one time setting up Veeam with it but relying entirely on the Veeam docs.
For those Nutanix superstars out there, what recommendations/tips/tricks do you have for learning it? Free resources? Community Edition?
A lot of this I could google or go to their site but I find asking folks who have walked the path before saves you a lot of time not taking turns onto dead ends!

I have used the CE edition but still only at the beginner level here until I get more time to spend with it.

what is your experience with Community Edition? I know that Esx VMware had the api’s turned off or something like that so I never used it. I know they tend to list restrictions on the web site but always better to hear from the people who have actually used it.

From what I got in to with it you could use it for home lab yes. Just need the resources to run it and VMs on top of it.

Hi! I don´t have direct experience with the Community edition. As a partner, I have access to a Nutanix Lab to provide demonstrations and perform tests; and we have a dedicated cluster in the company. There many people are using the Community edition; it scales up to 04 nodes, and it is more than enough for an AOS/AHV/Prism lab environment. I remember another requirement: you must upgrade within 30 days after a new release is available. These are the restrictions I remember.

Im working on building a Nested Home Lab for learning Nutanix,
I’ve been around vmware of so long, and now is hard to move to something “different”,
But Nutanix and also AHV is rocking hard these days.
I will try to post my progress and studies, translating them into English.

I was just considering the other day setting up Nutanix in my lab to test out and probably post on since I haven’t really played with it in years, and when I did, it was for a 1-day bootcamp. Seems that Nutanix is experiencing some explosive growth as of late with the whole Broadcom/VMware debacle, so it makes sense to be looking more into some of these alternatives that may be worth investing in, or at least knowing more about.
I think I mentioned this before, but I was also thinking about setting up a Nested environment in my ESXI cluster after I rebuild. Haven’t quite decided how to go about that yet though.
