Well, I certainly can’t plan for when Fun Friday falls on April Fools, but here we are.

So, everyone, I invite you to share your April Fools stories here, but also, I invite you to share recent stories that you WISH were April Fools.

April Fools:

A UK ISP has announced their retirement of their IPv6 ‘trial’ after 20 years, citing ‘colons just don’t belong in IP addresses’: https://www.aa.net.uk/etc/news/ipv6-end-of-trial/

we will give IPv14 a try

Nice, there is the April fool directly included into the version number 😎

Where was this Dyson thingy during the last two years? Would have been a nice Corona mask 😂😂😂  Or you can fly a X-Wing fighter with it...

It’s on news from monday, I unfortunately think it’s real 🤣

But I’m the only one who think “April fools” is it a useless day?

This is not an April fool but wish it was - we installed a tape unit at one of our DCs and it kept me on the phone the entire day.

Yesterday we were adding an expansion cabinet to it and more drives well wouldn't you know it we started at 10am and I got off the phone at 7pm so another wasted day that I wish was an April fool joke.  I said to everyone I hope this isn't the path each time on this unit.  😂

😂😂😂 Oh, oh, now I thought, why did he install a tape unit at the Domain Controller… Ok, ok, DC means DataCenter in English….  😵

Yeah sorry DC is short for Datacenter as you noted as that is where we installed it.

Not bad. 😂😂😂

Had some people in the last years with data on floppies and no drive for them anymore…

That is too funny.  Especially the description of it and capacity.  🤣

@MicoolPaul

Looks like Michael found a new vNext Feature.

Backup Repository backed by Floppy Disks. 😂 The most stable, fastest and safest solution yet. 🤪

Intruders will soon stop to attack companies because deleting the backups will be to much work for them

Imagine going through each floppy disk until they find the floppy with a part of the full backup to destroy it. 😂

But think of the storage density for a self loading floppy library! It wouldn’t be measured in 100’s of tapes but 1000’s!

With 1.44 MB per disk (or in best case with 2.88 MB with special IBM formatting)?
