Hi all,

I’ve been using Veeam backup for 365 for a while now and every now and again I get the error ‘the specified database cannot be opened on this OS version when I try to open the adb backup in the Sharepoint explorer tool. 
 

I seem to remember I did the backup on Windows 10, and have tried to restore on Windows 10 and also Windows 11 but I still get the same error. The error is not particularly helpful and doesn’t actually specify what the issue is. 
 

Does anyone know what this issue is or how I can possibly resolve it? As it stands I’m not able to open the backups which is causing a big headache.

Hello Dan,

I’m experiencing the same problem on a Windows 11 23H2 machine when trying to connect to an archived backup database (created 8 months ago).

About a month ago there was no problem recovering a SharePoint site from the same source and even restoring it back into the cloud.

 

I even installed the same VBM365 v7.1 on a Win 10 22H2 machine but am getting the same error message on the same ADB.

 

As there was no response to your post, did you find a solution to the problem by yourself in the meantime?

 

Would be much appreciated because I find almost nothing on that topic anywhere else – thx in advance!
