Description:
1. SAP Plugin Backup - Data Encryption:
Requesting the ability to encrypt data within SAP Plugin backups. This feature is critical to ensuring data security and compliance with industry standards.
2. MS SQL Plugin Backup - Data Encryption:
Requesting the ability to encrypt data within MS SQL Plugin backups. Like the SAP Plugin, encryption is essential for maintaining data integrity and security.
3. Health Check for SAP & MS SQL Plugin Backups:
Requesting the ability to enable health checks for both SAP and MS SQL Plugin backups. This feature would enhance the reliability and consistency of backups by ensuring the integrity of the data.
4. SQL Plugin Backup Management via VBR:
Requesting the creation of a feature that allows SQL Plugin backups to be managed directly from the Veeam Backup & Replication (VBR) interface. This integration would streamline the backup process and centralize management within the VBR console.
Justification:
These features are essential for enhancing the security, reliability, and usability of backups involving SAP and MS SQL systems. Implementing encryption and health checks will align these backups with best practices for data protection, while managing SQL Plugin backups via VBR will simplify operations and improve the user experience.
Priority: High

Hi @yeghishe.harutyunyan -

It appears the Health Check option is not available for plugins, except for MongoDB per the Enterprise Plug-in User Guide:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/plugins/mongo_policy_advanced_maintenance.html?zoom_highlight=health+check&ver=120

For Encryption, you enable this in the Veeam Repositories. See the below example for SAP HANA, which should be similar for the other Plug-ins (e.g. SQL):
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/plugins/repository_permissions.html?ver=120
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/plugins/repository_permissions_mssql.html?ver=120

For feature requests (your #4 - Manage SQL Plug-in from VBR), I recommend creating a post on the Forums for the Veeam Product Managers to see and comment on the viability of that being done.

Hope that helps.

Hi @coolsport00  when the encyption has been enabled on encyption enabled repository you not able to add this repo as a SAPhana plugin job, its not shown on the list of avalibale repository that you can choose. We tried to use that encrytion but unforunatly its not working for that kind of plugin jobs .

Ok...if you’ve followed the process in the User Guide and is still not working, I recommend reaching out to Veeam Support for assistance.

Hello @coolsport00 ,
When you enable repository encryption in the repository properties, this repository becomes unavailable for SAP HANA backup and the SQL plug-in.

@Edward Parlakyan - as I shared above...please contact Veeam Support for assistance with what you’re wanting to achieve.

Thank you.

Thank you, @coolsport00. I will inform you about Veeam Support response.
