Hello team,

I am trying to take backup for RHEL9 physical machine.  This machine is running on laptop PC.

Do I need to install Veeam agent for Linux before creating protection group?

Actually, I tried to create protection group, but it was failed.

Regards,

You can do this in both ways by choosing to create protection group with Pre-installed Backup Agents or creating the protection group and specifying host name or IP of the RHEL9 physical machine → Then, choose the discovery option to install the backup agent. Creating Protection Group for Individual Computers .

Make sure you have the full admin credentials to access the RHEL machine and the necessary ports are open between the VBR server and the RHEL machine.

Hi Mohamed,

Thanks for your quick response.  Now, I have opened necessary ports for Linux.  Now, I got error as below.

Connecting to Veeam Installer serivice on server Error: no response.

Also, I checked with message log file on the Linux machine.

systemd-rc-local-generator: /etc/rc.d/rc.local is not marked executable, skipping.

Do you have any ideas?
