Hey guys, in this link it says veeam cannot backup failover cluster with CSV and CSV will be excluded if you are backing up that cluster.

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/cluster_support.html?ver=110

Is there recommended way to backup those volumes? Can volume or file level backup solve this?

Hi Anandu

No, both methods will not work. Is this CSV for a FileServer or a SQL Server?

If File Server, you can try our File Backup Jobs to backup the Data.

If MSSQL, wait for V12 and you can use our new SQL Plugin to backup the databases.

No, that would be again an Agent backup. You can’t use the veeam Agent.

@Anandu its due to limitation with MS VSS ,you can refer to below link where you can backup using protection group.

@Lord_Maddy

Will not work. Clustered Shared Volumes (CSV) will be automatically excluded from a backup job.
