And, the 2nd and last question I’ll be posting is below. Remember, for those new to the VMCE page, please hide your comment (guess). To do so → before typing your response, click the ellipsis icon on the far right of the format toolbar in your comment box at the top and select the Spoiler option. This will place a ‘hide comment’ text box in your comment area. Click in this hide comment text box and start typing your answer (guess). Be careful to not click outside of the box or your comment will show after saving. We want your comment to not show so others can take full advantage of these practice questions. Let me know if you have issues. Good luck!

One of several steps involved to successfully enable Veeam CDP is to install the Veeam CDP I/O Filter. Where is this filter installed?

  1. VMware vCenter
  2. Veeam Backup Server
  3. ESXi Hosts
  4. Veeam Backup Repository
  5. Veeam Backup Proxy

This is definitely:

c. ESXi Hosts

  1. ESXi Hosts

C

  1. ESXi Hosts

c - ESXi Hosts

And the answer to this week’s 2nd question is below…

As with the 2 previous questions, this is a simple “static” question of just knowing about a Veeam process and its functionality. In this case, the question is talking about the CDP I/O filter and where it’s installed. There are a LOT of references in the User Guide about where this gets installed. The reality is, where the Guide states this is installed is imo a bit vague, except for 1 area/section where it states explicitly. I was going to use this “vague area” as an answer choice for the question, but I didn’t want to cause confusion. The area I was going to use is “VMware Clusters”. This is stated & used in the Guide. But, in one specific area, the Guide does say the I/O filter is installed on the ESXi Hosts, making c. ESXi Hosts the correct answer here. IMO, a filter can’t be installed “on a Cluster” as it’s a logical construct of VMware vCenter. What the Guide should say is the filter gets staged (?) on Clusters and then gets installed on Hosts in the Cluster, as well as when new Hosts get added to the Cluster. Regardless, all other answer choices for this question are really distracters. For more info see URL below:
