Veeam Recovery Orchestrator 7.1 included in Veeam Data Platform Advanced 12.2. This release brought key enhancements for security, restores and UI enhancements.

  • New setup ISO for Orchestrator which can be used to deploy any of the three products in the Veeam Data Platform Premium and as an add-on to Veeam Data Platform Advanced.
  • YARA rule management allowing you to import YARA rule files using Orchestrator UI. This allows you to preview rule contents within the UI, automatically distribute the YARA files to VBR server when scanning is required and to better control YARA file availability when using Orchestrator scopes.
  • New repository types for use in Azure recovery allowing backups stored there to be recovered in Microsoft Azure cloud plans including Veeam Data Cloud Vault, Amazon S3 and S3-compatible and Wasabi.
  • Support for Veeam Data Cloud Vault

How do I know VRO is suitable for my environment?

 

If you are a customer, then i would suggest to speak with your IT Partner, they should give you a good overview, what benefits you gain with VRO. If you are a partner, have a discussion with your Partner Manager.

Also, there are some Hands-On-Labs for the Orchestrator: Veeam Hands-On-Labs. There’s also a sperate Hub within the Community: VRO Heroes Den.

For us, we have a lot of customers running with VBR and some other Products like VBO365, VONE... but currently only one Customer with around 120 Instances in Veeam Data Platform Premium. It depeneds on your (or your customers) needs. With VRO, not only a DR Scenario can be handled “easier”, you have also extended Reports for your RPO/RTO, isolated Restore tests (more features as only with SureBackup).

I like this product and we also try to push a lot of our customers in that direction.

Normally you need Premium License for VRO, with Advanced License you can use Orchestrator as an Add-On (please correct me if i’m wrong @kirststoner12).
