Hi!

I would like to share with y’all my initial “hands on” the VBR13 - Linux Based OVA

Publishing the entry here, so you dont have to leave the Community Site:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I want to share my initial screenshots of the Linux-based Veeam Backup & Replication Server.
Tech Preview: VBR on Linux (v13)

Private technology preview for Veeam 100, for non-production use only.

Let’s get started:

As you may know, let’s deploy the OVA in our Vsphere Host:

As always, follow the wizard…

Select where the VM is going to be stored

Important, LAB, so, Thin Prov.

Detailed resume, no worries for the error, is ok! It’s just lab and non-production, remember?

Booting and great looking…

Easy step, to see the assigned IP address to the VM, quick look into the VM properties

Now, it is time to open your favorite browser, and call the URL from the VBR IP Address, for the web console

Boom!
Look at this console, beautifully colorful.
Looking forward to working from it, especially day-to-day operations you don’t need the «heavy console».

Now, with a Vsphere host Added and some VMs

Now, time to show the «Heavy» Client, I will paste the pics, due to the fact that the installation is so straightforward

Stay tuned for more news regarding this VBR13 Linux-based!

cheers.

Cool post Luis! Thanks for sharing. Hope to get mine tested here in a wk or so.

Hope you have a great rest of your week bud.

Great post Luis.  I have deployed this as well in my lab and after some tinkering got it working as it should.  There are things I am finding and reporting in the main thread Rick posted as well.  It is a great start to the next release for sure and the perfromance is so much smoother than current.

VONE v13 is also very cool as well if you have not checked that out either.  😉

This is available for production or not?

This is available for production or not?

Thanks @Chris.Childerhose

@AndrePulia media you mean ISO file?

Actually, The OVA file

@AndrePulia -

It is not yet downloadable to the general public. The v13 version is in beta and only available for a select group at the moment.

Best.

How can I get in the select group :-)

How can I get in the select group :-)

That takes time and lots of contributions to the community and forums.  😉

Also patience 😜

@AndrePulia -

Participate in the Veeam100 Community. Engage. Contribute. Interact. And then you may get selected to be in one of the Veeam100 programs. As Chris shared...it takes time. 😊

OK, thank you all!!!! 😉

@AndrePulia you are welcome!

Great post Luis...this is on my short list of things to get deployed to test out.

Great post. I’m going to get on this as soon as i’m back at the office!

How can I download the media?

You can reach out to your systems engineer - they may be able to provide you access.

@Rick Vanover, thank you! I’ll ask them. :-)
