I posted the below on Reddit, let me know your thoughts...We're in talks at work to make a new GFS repo where we keep X daily Y weekly Z monthly and maybe a single yearly on the Veeam repository and also take a copy monthly/yearly from said repo to tape and then off to the safe deposit box at the bank. What if I lose my repo and all that data. Yeah, I might have a few monthly/yearly at the bank, but I'm hosed on the daily/weekly side. All that history, lost. Is anyone have a redundancy approach they're using? We're thinking about using a couple Synology boxes in in HA mode basically where they basically stay in sync with each other. Let me know what you think. I also think we could use a second Synology box do do backup copy jobs and keep the same GFS retention points there...

As service providers we often need to, you know, recovery customer workloads someplace. Most of the VCSPs I know and both that I’ve worked for are either an all VMware shop or mostly VMware with a little bit of Hyper-V. Cloud providers are now somewhat on that list as well.What does “compute” for disaster recovery look like for you and your organization? Are their solutions out there that you’d like to work with but either Veeam has no support for or, somewhat more specifically, Cloud Connect doesn’t really support from a recoverability standpoint?
dears,we have an env where there 2 CSI drivers, ebs-aws that support volumesnapshot, and efs that does not.all pods and data are stored on ebs-aws, the pods on ebs generates a continuous logs and all are stored on EFS and saved as files. the question is, when we run the backup for the applications on ebs, the logs stored on EFS will be backed up and all are protected? or there is additional tasks to do?
Hello,tried setting up kasten in multi cluster mode and followed steps from official documentation documentation: https://docs.kasten.io/latest/multicluster/tutorials/getting_started.html - using helm approach .version: 6.5.12all pods are running and primary cluster ui also working.when trying to add secondary cluster running into below issue.Following is status of mc join status secret in secondary cluster.“rejected”.also tried adding secondary cluster using kube config approach from primary cluster ui.following is status.“Could not check whether cluster is already attached to a primary”. I have a different error- Failed to index guest file system. Failed to zip folder 'c:\users\.....Appdata\Local\Temp\GuestIndexData.zip. I am seeing the below warning on backup jobs. We have VEM installed so cannot disable Guest indexing. Backup will complete successfully with this warnings. Using Domain admin account for Guest processing and indexing. Hi, everyone! I have a PowerShell script that I use to retrieve some information about the daily backup sessions. It works well, but I was trying to transition it from the Get-VBR-Job command to the Get-VBRBackup command. Everything works but the newer script is very slow; it went from a few seconds with the old script to 5-10 minutes with the new. I was wondering if anyone could give me pointers on a more efficient way to get the session information or otherwise speed it up. I have a backup job for my desktop computer that has 3 SSDs, with the C drive being an NVMe drive. Once the job begins, NVMe usage jumps to 100% and response time also jumps to the 1000s of milliseconds. I have IO throttling enabled in settings but that doesn’t help. Basically makes the computer unusable while a backup is running because the computer is sluggish and stutters constantly.

Hi, We have installed kasten helm charts via Rancher. Now I am trying to resize the catalog pvc, but cannot do it in rancher as will over write when new version helm chart is deployed..In App yaml file all I see is a resource “catalog-pv-claim” is created but no size is mentioned, I can’t find where the actual size is mentioned. May I know where in rancher config yaml we need to update the size of catalog pvc so that the volume can be expanded.the parameter “global.persistence.catalog.size” is left default in app configRegards,Raj

With the recent VMWare licensing consolidation and Broadcom moving to a subscription/core model, it has caused many SMBs to explore new options for a hypervisor. (such a shame.. pouring one out for my years of VMWare experience.) XCP-NG and ProxMox keep coming up in various communities. I personally have tested both and they perform really well. My only issue with them is that currently there is no native Veeam integration for the two platforms. Are there any plans for Veeam to support XCP-NG and/or ProxMox?

Have installed the Kasten k10 on AWS k8, trying to access the dashboard from the kubectl --namespace kasten-io port-forward service/gateway 8080:8000 I get below error, cant get it to work.

Backing up pods with a PV fails, the ones without a PV backup fine. When using the kubectl get volumesnapshot, I can see the snapshots get created, but I don't see that actual status of it. The primer script runs fine, even though I'm on K8s 1.29 which is unsupported technically, the rest runs fine. I'm using the ceph-rbd CSI for my PVs.However, when I run the primer to check snapshotting specifically, the same problem occurs.curl -s https://docs.kasten.io/tools/k10_primer.sh | bash /dev/stdin csi -s ceph-rbdThe snapshot object is created, but it's stuck on snapshotting indefinitely. How do I troubleshoot this? I can't seem to find logging or events related to this.
We have Kasten K10 on installed via operator on multiple clusters. All of the K10 instances seem to have excessive amounts of helm revision when viewed with helm history k10 Is this normal behavior? We seem to be getting ~200 revisions per hour.
