Veeam Backup for AWS v9 is now available, bringing key enhancements to improve security, performance, and workload support. A standout feature of this release is support for a new AWS workload, Amazon Redshift Serverless, enabling organizations to easily backup and restore serverless clusters in AWS.
It is important to note that starting from version 7.0, the Veeam Backup for AWS is integrated in the Veeam Backup & Replication solution. Some new features are available only for backup appliances managed by Veeam Backup & Replication.
Key features included in Veeam Backup for AWS:
- Support for Amazon Redshift Serverless, providing organizations with the ability to capture the data of the processed RedShift Serverless namespace and its associated work group at a specific point of time. You can find the full list of supported Redshift Serverless properties here.
- AWS Organizations support allowing the management of workload protection for hundreds of accounts at once
- Enhanced security with a read-only role to its Role Based Access Control (RBAC) capabilities allowing administrators to give view-only access to backups and configurations.
- Updated User Interface, providing a cleaner more modern interface with improved accessibility.
