Hi, it failed to install “Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Management Objects”. I noticed you said computer and not server, any chance you’re trying to install this on Windows 11?

If so it’s likely this:

Really strange, you can try to install the prerequisites manually :/

Oct 11, 2022: I am also unable to install the Veeam Agent for Windows, in Windows-11, [5.0.3.4708]. I tried invoking the two powershell command line instructions (in another post) to create some registry entries but the instructions had no effect.  I spoke to someone in the Veeam “sales” department (only place to speak to a HUMAN if you don’t have a business account) today, Oct 11,2022 and I was told that their development engineers are VERY much aware of the problem. It will NOT install in Windows 11. They said, “They’re working on fixing the issue.” They were unable to provide an anticipated time of when the resolution of this problem will occur. But they are aware of it and they know that it doesn’t work with WIN-11.

I reckon you need to look at the sql installer error logs for this. As it’s the shared management objects I’d suggest running the installer for that separately to identify the error

Hi Stabz,

The only way we have fixed this is to reset windows 10, leave the data but remove apps.  Then reinstall Veeam from scratch.

October 21, 2022: Anyone heard if the Windows 11 issue has been fixed yet?

I have not but I do have the new agent that comes in V12 if you want to test that. It would have any previously documented fixes incorporated.

Indeed - I believe we need a newer version of the Agent.

Hello,

Try with the latest version Veeam Agent version is 5.0.3, and see if you got the same error :)

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback! This is for Windows 10 and I am trying to install the latest version of Veeam version 5.0.3.4708 so the solution you suggested doesn’t apply.

Well it’s always a good idea to take the latest version.

Hi Rick,

Yes that is correct, the failed Veeam installation is when I try to install Veeam version 5.0.3.4708 (latest version) onto my computer. Is there a workaround this or any solution?

What is the amount of free space on the system?  This is the only idea that comes to me as to why the installation may not succeed.

There is currently 784 GB of free space / storage and 145 GB of used space.

That’s not the problem then - I recommend you open a case @rnrconsultants  - I’m not really a good log diver unfortunately.

Thanks Rick, I opened a case yesterday and have not received a response. So I thought I’d just post up my issue here in case someone else ran into a similar issue.

Hello,

Have you check on the antivirus or gpo side ? Maybe you have some limitation here ?
