Hi Folks,I’m having an backup issue with Kasten K10 and MySQL Blueprint from Kanister.The job fails when it starts the kanister pod. After 1-2 seconds, this pod got killed and following error I get from Kasten K10.Has someone from you guys an idea how I can fix this issue?Regards,Flavio

adding hyper-v host failed with "invalid credentials" noting that we don't have domain and the Veeam and Hyper-V are on the same subnet.

Hi, is it possible to use the same VUL license on two different standalone VBR servers ?the VBR in the main site doing the backup to disk and then backup copy and replicate only one VMto the VBR server in the DR site to his local repository. the license is for 5 VM bundle and in practice only one VM is backup and then copy and replicate to DR.Thanks
How to retain VMs brought up using VDRO longer than 7 days?In order for us to retain the VMs past 7 days, we decided to basically stop Veeam services on our VDRO server. Needless to say, our VDRO is inoperable at this state. We’d like to bring it up and not affect the VMs that were created. So I think, this means that we need to modify entries in the VDRO database to “cleanly” remove this from VDRO but un-touch on the vSphere side. We can rename the objects in vSphere but not sure if this would work since VDRO may be using object IDs in its DB instead of object name. The VM involves is a big DB and just running a DB check took about a week and after this a patch needs to be applied necessitating another check that is why we need it longer than 7 days. Thanks for the ideas and suggestions. I have also opened a low sev ticket with support and will share what they recommend.

Hi all,We have a problem with oracle archive log filesWe are migrating backups from HP Dataprotector to Veeam Backup & Replication 12. We create a job using Veeam Plug-in for Rman. In the "Database Prossesing settings" window’s, we choose the option "DELETE archived redo logs that were backed up". The ARCHLOGS are deleted, OK, but With HP DATAPROTECTOR we used a script with these commands: archivelog until time 'sysdate-3' not backed up 1 times;delete NOPROMPT archivelog all completed before 'sysdate -7' backed up 1 times to sbt;crosscheck archivelog all;How do we do it with Veeam?Adrian
For a hardware server (no vmware) I use the Agent for Windows and backup to a local NAS. I added a cloud backup job to Wasabi which works but I noticed it disabled the schedule to the local NAS. I turned it back on and made sure the times do not overlap. Is that the only way to have a local and cloud copy with the Agent, two separate jobs? I like local for speed when restoring, cloud is only in case of disaster...
Hello, I’m actually testing surebackup with a sql server always on cluster.Setting to test default SqlChecker script.Unfurtunatelly, it seems not to be working well.All the databases (exepts system db) are in RECOVERY_PENDING state in the mounted vm lab.Is surebakup working for always on clusters ?Am I missing something ? thanks for your help.Fred
Hi Everyone,I have moved forward on my home lab. Proxmox is installed and I am finding it very intuitive. I now have to see about what I can do about a Veeam setup (can I nest a Veeam supported Hypervizor in there etc). I have also added one of those ethernet over power lines connections to my basement. That also seems to be working perfectly, hooray no need to rip out walls for cabling. I got to thinking though, so many of us need to test and play with Veeam outside of work confines and the info about home labs is scattered all over the site in different posts. Do people think it would be helpful to have a separate Home Lab section. This is a place where newbies or people re-thinking their setup could come with the ultimate goal of getting more lab exposure to Veeam. Or should we just leave as be and use the search function? What does everyone think? Again I don’t know how feasible this would be and it would not be a new group per-se. Just an idea.

But sessions tab I see “Database Replication” failed.And the logs like that;“The SQL Server machine hosting the configuration database is currently unavailable. Hello,I have a question, please. I've noticed on Veeam Backup that I still have incremental and full images for some VMs that have been removed from the backup . I use a daily retention of 14 days with 12 days as immutable and some Full in GFS. Does the 14-day retention mean that Veeam will keep the restoration points created in the last 14 days indefinitely, or should these restoration points be deleted?Thank you for your assistance.

I’ve been googling and am about to open a support case, but I’m checking here first. I have just built my first linux proxy servers using Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Super easy, works great. Except I have two more that I’m trying to build as CDP proxy’s. I can setup as regular VMware Proxy’s, but when I attempt to install the CDP Proxy, I get the below errors.Error Failed to save Veeam CDP proxy: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it <IP Address>:6182Error Infrastructure item save failed Error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it <IP Address>:6182 This is my first time using Linux CDP proxy’s. I did have Windows Proxy’s in place but was having an issue with starting the CDP service on those machines after upgrading to 12.1 and decided to just remove those VM’s because they were 2012 R2 and are being replaced/retired anyway. Unfortunately, I’m not super well-versed in Linux so I’m learning here. T

We have several backup and replication jobs running on Veeam Backup and Replication build 10.0.1.4524 and have started receiving errors with all of the jobs failing. These error messages vary from “ Error: The network path was not found. Agent failed to process method {FileSystem.Exists}.” to“Could not perform threshold check for backup location “\\..." due to space info retrievement fail!Error: Failed to call RPC function 'FcCreateDir': The network path was not found. Cannot create folder. Folder path: [\\..].Job has failed. See logs for details.”When troubleshooting, we receive a warning while rescanning the repository stating that it is missing. We are able to SSH into the NAS backup repository and I am able to sign into the NAS and see all of the permissions and correct network paths. Is there anything more we can do to fix this issue or somewhere specific to look?

Hello Team, I have recently upgraded Veeam Enterprise Manager to 12.1.1.56, upgrade is successfully however now am unable to open Veeam EA or Veeam self service restore browser. tried clearing cookies, rebooted Veeam EA however issue still persists.
I think I’ve missed something, but we have a requirement to retain backups certain machine for 7 years even after the machines have been decommissioned…How are you supposed to do that with Veeam?I can see that you can export certain backups, but so does that mean that I need to export a backup from each year to other storage?
Hi all,Recently, my ESXi home lab host died, taking with it the main data store that contained all my working VMs including a Veeam Replication and Backup Community Edition VM. This VM was backed up several of the VMs on the ESXi host to an alternate location, so perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel.In the first instance, I will need to create a new VM for Veeam, then reinstall Replication and Backup and re-attach the backup store. However, when looking at https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/importing_backups.html?ver=110, there is a pre-requisite requirement that states:The server from which you plan to import backups must be added to the backup infrastructure. Otherwise you will not be able to access backup files. Does this mean I need to re-create to lost VMs in ESXi first, before I can import any backups? Do then need to be specific configurations that match the original VM (such as vHDDs)? Do they even need be fully recreated with OS? Of is it simply that I

Bonjour, je me permet ce mail car, je ne gère pas habituellement les sauvegardes , mais les personne le faisant étant absente et devant changer les bandes, je ne suis pas sur de bien faire.On a des sauvegardes à 1 an. Avec un roulement par mois, à priori 5 bandes pour le mois. On a une sauvegarde journalière incrémentielle et puis chaque week end, une sauvegarde complète.Quand on on fait des restaurations, on peut donc restaurer à un peu plus d’un mois en général, sans être obligé d’aller mettre des bandes dans les lecteurs.J’ai donc éjecté les 5 bandes de fin mars 2023, pour les mettre de côté. Et je les ai remplacé par les bandes du mois de mars 2022 ( + 1), il n’y en avait que 4 à l’époque. On a un double lecteur de bande de 24 emplacements.Une fois ça fait, quand je vais dans Veeam Backup, dans media, dans “online”, je vois bien mes 5 bandes que j’ai mise ( j’avais noté leur nom). Déjà, elles apparaissent ( les 5 que j’ai remplacé) en “expired” et dans la colonne media pool, c’est
