Running Veeam agent for Windows free on an intel nuc, image level backup to external USB SSD.Over a week ago we were getting the following in the backup failure reports; One or more bad blocks were detected and skipped and skipped in the source diskError: Cannot process pending I/O request (offset: 28058845184, size: 65536): async reader terminated Corrupted block processing thread failed unexpectedly Failed to upload disk. Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.SyncDisk}. Exception from server: Cannot process pending I/O request (offset: 28058845184, size: 65536): async reader terminated Unable to retrieve next block transmission command. Number of already processed blocks: [9390]. Failed to download disk '50f5cc69-4da2-47ad-a384-fe605dfacfaf'Ran all sorts of tools, benchmarks, SMART checks, chkdsks, etc and found no issues with C: (OS) or D: (eSSD). Are there any other advanced backup storage calculators kind of like the one Veeam has?Calculator - VM (veeam.com)I’m trying to get a good estimation of storage needs. Don’t get me wrong, you can probably never have enough storage 😂 but with that comes budget. The one from Veeam I’m using total amount of space taken by current VMs in the datacenter. It doesn’t take into account growth (additional VMs) or reduction (consolidation/removal of VMs). Our SAN is right around 90TB but remote datacenters have local stroages for VMs at about 3TB and 1.5TB respectively. Do I size based off SAN/local array storage?
Curious as to why by default is the B&R console installed along with a new B&R server install in v12?Security best practices say to run the console on a separate stand alone computer, using a local credentials, and on a separate network or VLAN.This being the case one would think that there would be an option during the install process to include the console or not. I ask, because I am inherently lazy and would rather watch dog videos than go through the hassle of removing the console from the server. Also best practices should be easy to implement so all admins implement them.
I have been digging deeper in to the VONE console especially the Threat Center Dashboard lately and the following graph that shows 0% indicates to check the Reports > Backup Compliance category -- does anyone know the specific report(s) for this that uses it?The other options on the Threat Center Dashboard name a specific report to run for the % showing but this one just gives a category. Explico: tengo un job que hace respaldo de archivos de un servidor por medio de agente (solo copio los archivos no es de VM ese esta por separado). Ahora bien, quiero pasar dicho respaldo a una cinta, la cual es de una sola unidad. Al hacer el job de Backup-to-Tape, me pide que seleccione el Media Pool, después que tipo de backup si es full y si quiero respaldar también el incremental. Como le digo a Veeam que en caso de querer hacer el backup incremental, pida otra cinta o todo se graba en la que esta puesta en ese momento? Esperando sus comentarios,

Hi,We are running Veeam Backup and Replication 12.1 version as the Azure Immutable BLOB storage is not deleting the backup files as our data size is 124 TB as per Veeam Backup console, the following retention specified Daily incremental - 28 days, Weekly Full - 21 days, Monthly Full - 12 months. After 45 days, monthly full backup will get moved to Archive Tier. The Azure Blob Storage consumed almost 490 TB in Performance Tier and 46 TB in Archive Tier as two months data moved to Archive Tier.Immutable is not releasing and not deleting in the Performance Tier. Any one was able to identify the old data on the Azure Blob Storage and delete the old files if those sits.

Hello.This is my first post here.Please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong. I'm using Veeam Community version 12.1.1.56 and since I updated to this version, my "file share" backups have been experiencing issues.I have two backup jobs of this type.The problem I'm going to report only occurs when I activate the option "Configure secondary destinations for this job" within "Backup Repository" in the job properties.If I create a backup job now, it will execute the task normally. However, on the following days, Veeam starts to encounter problems. Veeam agent based backup is failing, SQL Appaware is not enabled, but backup is failing due to SQLServer writer in non-retryable error. Has anyone came accross this? Perhaps the Service Provider section of the R&D Forums is a better place to ask, but I figured I’d check here to see if anyone has an easy button for resetting MFA on an AD login specified by AD group for an Admin in the Service Provider Console. I reloaded my phone and the Duo app didn’t import my 3rd party MFA logins. Fortunately, I have other admin logins I can use.So far what I’ve gotten is that you have to apparently use the REST API (which seems silly to me if that’s the case, feature request coming up…..) because the user only exists in an AD group that was specified for access. While I’m not great with API’s, the the Swagger UI should make things easier. That said, I haven’t yet figured out how to authenticate with Swagger using an account that has MFA enabled. I might be able to get it once I get past that hump. I was hoping that if I disabled the MFA requirements, I could log in and reset MFA from the user access, but it appears to prompt for MFA once enrolled even if
Hi all,Relatively new to the community; been working with Veeam a while now, though!After finally sorting some bits out, I’ve built out a home lab to play with Veeam, but also use my own data as a way to gather experience about day-to-day use of Veeam (I am an architect, so naturally, I never touch the product in anger 🙄 - hoping to fixing that!)I’m loosely aware that the Veeam for Mac agent is relatively new, so while I understand there will be bugs, my current experience has been fairly frustrating (I don't want to treat this as a support-request post, so wont go into specifics). HelloI have 4 VM on 4 different physical servers with Veeam Backup&Replication community edition v12.1.56.In my system, I have a VM under debian 12 which is used as Postfix SMTP relay for all my servers. Internally, everything goes through port 25 and all my servers send mail to this relay without identification or password. The relay then sends everything to my dedicated office365 mailbox.In less than 1 day, 2 of my Veeam VMs stopped sending me mail.So every time I run the test mail, I get the message: Unable to connect to SMTP server because of invalid credentials or connection settings.I've compared the smtp configuration with that of the 2 servers that are still working, apparently I haven't seen any anomalies and everything is identical. I have a Veeam instance on the google cloud using there deployment which I'm using to backup some instances to a bucket. I want to be able to backup my on prem servers to the same bucket. is it possible to connect the servers to the Veeam google instance? Do i need to install an agent to be able to do this? or can I just point the instance to my on prem servers?
Hello,I am encountering a warning on my Veeam backups that Veeam "Cannot find EFI boot manager entry for EFI System Partition". The backups are otherwise successful.I am running Manjaro Linux, which I realize is not formally supported. I used Veeam successfully some time ago without issues, experimented with other backup solutions for a while, then came back to Veeam because honestly nothing works as well or as simply as it does. The last time I used Veeam, I was running a 5.x version, and I’ve since started using 6.1.0.1498.Here is some more detailed information about my issue:Specific Problem: When performing a Full System backup, Veeam will complain that it "Cannot find EFI boot manager entry for EFI System Partition GUID” followed by the GUID of my system’s EFI partition. I’ve recently gone through the process of upgrading my Veeam implementation from v11 to v12. Everything has upgraded correctly and I’ve even managed to get a hardened repository server upgraded successfully. My problem is that although all configured jobs are quite happily running and successfully completing under v12, the physical Veeam server running as an agent backup job fails. This was working previously before the upgrade. Is there any solution to this issue.

Hi, We have installed kasten helm charts via Rancher. Now I am trying to resize the catalog pvc, but cannot do it in rancher as will over write when new version helm chart is deployed..In App yaml file all I see is a resource “catalog-pv-claim” is created but no size is mentioned, I can’t find where the actual size is mentioned. May I know where in rancher config yaml we need to update the size of catalog pvc so that the volume can be expanded.the parameter “global.persistence.catalog.size” is left default in app configRegards,Raj
After a power failure a VM on vSphere 8 couldn’t be started.
