Cloud City update from Veeam Resiliency Summit 2023

On October 24th, 2023, Veeam held it’s Resiiency Summit where many security enhancements and other announcements were made around the next VBR release (12.1) as well as the full Veeam Data Platform (23H2). Both of those are expected to be released in early 2024. In addition, the next versions of the Veeam Backup for AWS, Azure, and GCP will be released around that time. Best practice for VSPC and Veeam ONE SQL configuration database high availability

I have what I hope is a simple question. What’s the best practice for the a high availabilty SQL server for the VSPC or Veeam ONE configuration database. I see in https://www.veeam.com/kb2301 how to deploy SQL AOAG for VBR and VEM. I’m not sure if this applies to VSPC or Veeam ONE.

Best Practice for DNS configuration for Veeam Cloud Connect

I want to revisit a discussion I’ve had before about the best DNS configuration for Veeam Cloud Connect.What is common is that there is a common DNS name given to the customers for which multiple A records are created. This provides the round robin load balancing for the cloud gateways.I’ve heard two ways of creating the DNS records for the gateways.A records for each gateway CNAME pointing back to the common DNS nameI know I had seen some documentation supporting the CNAME option before but I can’t seem to find it now.I’m asking this in context of pushing out VSPC Agents. I’m not sure I fully understand how the Agents communicates back to the VSPC and connects the Agent Backups or VBR to the service provider. I am seeing in some instances that it adds a service provider to the VBR but using one of the gateway DNS entries and not the common DNS entry.

Veeam Advanced Concepts for Partners

Did you know there is a curriculum in VeeamIQ called “Veeam Advanced Concepts for Partners”? I didn’t until last night. Like the description says, the videos are all about 10 minutes long and cover all topics like how to set up the backup server, proxies, repositories, transport modes, NAS, CDP, VCC, Automation, Tape, SOBR, etc. Take a look if you haven’t seen this before. This is a great resource for deeper learning or for review of areas you don’t work with often.

Hey Veeam community. I am starting my New Year’s resolution early and posting my first video on YouTube. It’s a walkthrough of Veeam Backup for Salesforce. I’m planning to post more videos as I find it helps deepen my understanding of various Veeam solutions. I hope to document some parts of Veeam products that I found challenging or hard to implement. VBR backup to Data Domain compression settings
