VeeamON 2024 - Use Code "COMMUNITY10" for 10% Off!
Hello Veeamers,I read the veeam docs and i don’t see any references to MSSQL on Linux.https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/explorers/vesql_systemreqs.html?ver=110Am I the only one to have this gift on production on VM? Except VM backup, it will be old fashioned way for DBA to play with backup on it.
Asynchronous request has failed. [readsize = 1048576] [offset = 17076584448]. Der Backup auf iSCSI funktioniert problemlos. Weiß jemand, woran das liegen könnte? Viele Grüße und Danke
We have a project study backup SAP and SAP HANA, High Availability from 2 Suse Hosts HA. As knew, the 2 Hosts each has local disk for store Database and log, and it work as Active and Standby Hosts. So my question is that when we installed Veeam Plug-in for SAP HANA for both hosts. Can Veeam support backup SAP HANA,HA from both hosts? If the SAP HANA, HA use VIP (Virtual IP) for access both hosts, can Veeam support backup from SAP HANA, HA using the VIP? What will the database and log backup from HA Hosts? Will it keep only 1x copy (Database and log) from Active Host or keep duplicate from Active and Standby from both Hosts?
Hey community, I want to use VBR 11a and VeeamPluginforSAPHANA to backup my SAP HANA database.Howerver, the test result is not ideal, Processing rate is only 1M/s.In my environment, the bandwidth between the VBR server and the HANA server is 10Gbps, and I have tested it with iperf3, everything is OK. and when I use VBR to backup VMs and NAS, everything is OK too. I also tried to set up different repositories using SapBackintConfigTool, but it doesn't work. What could be the reason? tks.
Ive been playing around with Veeam the last day or so and not having much luck. we have 2 servers running 2016 with RDX backup drives. I have installed community addition on one im using as a test server, the other one is in production running AD, DHCP, DNS etc. We also have a small NAs we can locate in a seperate building to give us ofsite backups/copies.So far non of the backups have worked, seems to fail on a rescan needed.Maybe I should be using agents and not community ? Just about all the help/instructions go into VM and more complex stuff than we need. I have only ever had to recover files twice and server once in the 15 years Ive been supporting them but its enough to know that next time I want it to be a lot easier and have backups configured so we have fairly up to date data. Weekly would do at a pinch. So yes critical that we have it but no ones going to lose much and its a balance with costs of loss and cost of implementattion. Sorry for going on.Any suggestions as to
Dear all,Apology I am a newbie here and my question may sound naive. We appreciate any help from your guys.We used Tivoli in the past to backup Oracle for both long term data keeping and DR. We created 3 sets of tapes. 2 sets would be always in the tape library and one at remote site. Every 2 weeks we get back the offsite set and load it into library, and send one set of tapes to remote site for storage.Could you please give some idea how to set up file-to-tape job (let say daily full backup of Oracle) in Veeam in similar fashion? Our idea is to create a media pool with 3 media sets. One media set online for backup for 2 weeks, another offline in the tape library and one media set in the vault (to keep in remote site). And we will rotate in that way for every 2 weeks. Will that work? We value your input very much.Thank you.Hien
Hi,I would like to offload Archives to AWS Glacier. I added a AWS Glacier Repository to an sobr as archive exent. Once offloading starts I get the following error messages.I thing that the gateway server is not able to connect by ssh to the ec2 proxy appliance? Are these Appliances deployed in advance, or just temporary during archive offloading job? It is a new deploy, we didnt use these feature. 01:42:55 Failed to provision a proxy appliance: Unable to connect by SSH to appliance. 04:3201:47:28 Queued for processing at 28.04.2021 01:47:28 01:47:33 Task failed. Error: Unable to archive backups: no proxy appliances are available. 01:47:33 Processing finished with errors at 28.04.2021 01:47:33
Hi guys One of our customer migrated all his workloads to Azure. For backup compliance he defined all workloads have to be backed up daily to AWS S3 immutable object store. So we have Veeam Backup for Azure for IaaS and NAS Backup for Azure File Share. Now my struggle is real. When I backup the file share with NAS Backup I’m not able to write the data to AWS on daily base, only “Keep previous file version” works. I used a scale-out backup repository with capacity tier the s3 immutable store and the setting “Copy backups to object store as soon as they are created” and “Move backups to object storage as they age out the operational restore window” but nothing happened. Also the Azure IaaS Backup Copy job does not work as expected. As backup repository I need to specify a scale-out repo because directly to object store is not possible. With same scale-out repo as above the local stored elements will not be deleted. Does anyone have any experience and/or suggestions?Kind regardsDaniel
