I’ll try and post a little pop quiz question each day, hope to hear from many of you. Did you know the answer? Did you look it up in the documentation? Did you try it in a lab? Please share some details along with your answer. The backup job has been configured with the forever forward incremental backup mode and the full retention has already been achieved. An on-demand sandbox has been started with the Keep application group running feature. What will happen to the on-demand sandbox if it is still running when the backup job starts and completes on the next backup run?
Hi all!I’m engaged in a project where we have to backup several physical servers with agents via WAN with very small bandwidth.I prepared a portable server with local disks to collect the first full backups within the ROBO locations’ LAN.Back in the central datacenter I would like to use that as a seed for future incremental backups. I’m aware of the basic procedure for that (copy VBKs, rescan repo, map job). But in the end I would like to have only one agent backup job for all servers; though the mapping option lets me only choose one job to map to thus loosing the previous chains.Any options I am missing or not possible? Thanks for any input!Tim
I’m missing something simple here I thnk…all of my backups are unencrypted and I want to encrypt them, I set one to do that, stored the key in VEEAM and of course offsite too, but how do I know it’s working? I tried a guest file restore from that backup, picked a file, it restored fine, but nowhere did VEEAM asked me to provide the password.. I assume this is because it knows it, but that doesn’t make me feel comfortable with the process. I suppose the test could be to install backup & replication on another computer and try the restore from there? a bit of work though so I’m thinking there’s an easier way or am I worrying about nothing?
Hi friends, Can you help me please ? I have new installed Veeam Server and i imported the backup from storage. Now i need to make a full restore from imported backup ? Thank you,
Hello everyone, I am new on Veeam and I am planning to perform backup tests in my environment (VM’s, Local Storage, etc.). I would like to hear from your experience the best procedures to performs these backup tests and ensure that our systems/infrastructure are prepared for recovery whenever needed.Could you advise on how to proceed correctly?Thank you in advance.
Hi Fellow Hubians! So can someone explain to me the reason for the upgrade backup chain format?https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/backup_copy_change_type.html?ver=120&_gl=1*wzxbvg*_ga*MTMwNTg0NDUyNC4xNjg3ODAyODk4*_ga_PMJS81E58L*MTY5MDIyNDYzNS4xMDAuMS4xNjkwMjI1ODYyLjI3LjAuMA As I understand this changes the chain from having one single metadata file to separate for the per-vm backups. I can see this being a good idea from the separate and conquer point of view (or deal with less hassle if one of the metadata files gets corrupted, so if you only have one, it is much less fun) but are there any other reasons for the move?
Can a support ticket be raised without providing a support ID ?
what is the best option to integrate nimble storage directly with veeam or to present it as disk on veeam servers and configure backup repository.considering backing up physical infra as well..
Hey guys, I watched this video on WAN accelerator and the instructor has told to not specify C drive as the cache location, but in helpcenter documents they have not specified anything like that. Is not setting cache location on C drive a good recommendation? Please refer the video and for more details of what I described jump to 6:27 of the video

Hello,Getting the following error when trying to run SureBackup in Veeam which is on a windows server 2019.“Error: VM was created with the later version of Hyper-V than the one installed on host.”The VM’s are configured with version 10 and they are on server 2022. Server 2019 supports only until configuration 9.0.Is there any way to run the surebackup for VM’s with configuration version 10.0 on this host? Thank you.
