Good day all, hoping to find someone who has either seen this or may know where I could start to troubleshoot (I'll open a ticket with support as well, just hedging my bets here). We've used Veeam for server/VM backups for a few years and it's awesome.For workstation backups, we've used Carbonite (don't ask, we've tried to get rid of it in the past but got shot down by higher ups/non administrators) but it has been decided that we're not going to renew this year (got about a month left on our annual term).Over the last year, I implemented OneDrive KFM so that our desktop and documents folders are resilient and more "portable", which has made our hardware swaps much smoother and reduced the need for Carbonite.But I digress...while nobody actually said to go find a replacement for Carbonite (it seems to be the thought that OneDrive KFM is a replacement for backups,.which I know it's not), I am looking into alternatives, and Veeam would seem like the logical choice. I have installed Veeam B&R Community Edition. I have to take backup from x.x.x.6 to x.x.x.10I have successfully created Backup Repository for x.x.x.10Now I am creating Protection Group where in I am adding x.x.x.10 from where I have take backup. As soon as I Test the credentials (Either Local Host / Domain ) in both cases I am receiving the below error. I tried to OFF the Windows Defender but then also no success. Kindly advise
Hello, i'm using Veeam Backup & Replication 11 to backup a VM. This is working fine, but the order Backup-Files (vbk) wont get deleted. My Settings so far: Retention Policy: 10 days Reverse incremental Active Full Backup -Create active full backups periodically: Sunday Full backup file maintenance - Remove deleted items after: 7 days Would be great if someone can give me a hint which setting is missing

Cleaning tape is in slot 10 and unrecognized. Can it be visible in Media Pool? What would be the process to replace the cleaning tape and add it to the slot. Where do I find the I/O slot? Hello Veeam, I would like to ask regarding on how to size repository needed for Veeam via http://rps.dewin.me/If customer gave the data size that needs to backup which is 28tb and backup policy must have 2YR retention and the sched will be 24months Full, 4 weekly Full and 7 Daily incremental.So technically I will create a "Backup Copy Job GFS” in Dewin, and will enter 24 in Months the total for that one is 219.2TB, will create another one for weekly will enter 4 in Weekly and total of 44.2 TB, and last for Daily incremental will select "Forever Incremental” and retention will be 7 and total of 31.89 TB. For all type of backup i checked the Refs/XFS, 10% conservative for change rate, and 50% on data left after reduction. So it means i will add the total for all and that is equivalent to 295.29 TB of storage. So i need a total of 295.29 TB with 2YR retention? I think is is too much give that Veeam have dedup/compress features, if you will size can you share the details as well. Thanks

Good morning, everyone! Quick question. I have a copyjob that is throwing random “No Cloud Gateways available” errors. The odd thing is, it’s the only server that is having the issue and the our cloud connect server is fine. I am not quite sure what is happening between the cloud connect server and that backup server, but I want to get to the bottom of it! What would be the best Veeam log to check for info on that? I can run through the Windows Event Viewer, but I also want to see if any of the Veeam logs can shed some light. You all rock! Thank you so much for being great!

Hi, I was reading the manual on Instant Disk Recovery Manual and I have a question.When you click “Migrate to Production” does this suspend the VM? The problem is that I have a VM which I restored the disk using Instant Disk Recovery, but on reading online further, it seems that when I click “Migrate to Production” the VM will be stopped until the disk has been completely restored. Is this correct? Thank you,Paul
TapeDrive alert: The tape drive is due for routine cleaning: Wait for the current operation to finish. Then use a cleaning cartridge. Check the tape drive user manual for device specific cleaning instructions. We have the cleaning tape in the library, and it is set to Perform drive cleaning automatically. Not sure why we would get the alert. Would ejecting and adding back to the drive resolve this issue?

What does " Warning: Task was not processed in the current session " mean? I receive the warning after it tries to run a backup copy job. Any advice on what this means, why this happened, or how to solve the issue?I get the same message after running a new sync after about 10 minutes. Job will finish with warnings, with no successes.

Hi all, I am trying to create a Monthly Full Backup with Incremental Backups in between. In the ‘Advanced’ section, so far, I have created a Backup Job with ‘Incremental’ option selected. I have also enabled ‘Active full backup’ which will run on the last Friday on Monthly basis. In the ‘Schedule’ section, I have selected the ‘Run the job automatically’ with condition that it will run at 10 pm of the last Friday, every Month.So, the question is have a configured it correctly ? Hello, I have a question.I have a scenario with a server, it has Veeam Backup Community installed and makes copies locally.I would like to add an external copy on a server that is now deprecated, and I would like to use for copies.I have tried to get Veeam Backup Agent for Windows to be recognized on both servers, but it is only recognized by one, the one doing the installation.Is it possible to make copies of the same server from two Veeam Backup servers?Thank you all.
