Spannend finde ich, dass Veeam 12.1 zwar mit Windows Server 2022 kompatibel ist, PostgreSQL jedoch nur ab Version 16:PostgreSQL: Windows installersHier das Veeam Dokument:Release Notes (veeam.com) Gibt es hier schon Infos, wie und wann Veeam mit Postgres 16 freigegeben wird bzw. wie aktuell mit Installation rund um Windows Server 2022 umgegangen werden soll? I just got all of our systems upgraded to v12. With that said, I have two clients using hardened repo’s and two different people set them up, neither of them were me, and the system I’m working on now - the engineer that set that up left the company and moved on a couple months ago. I planned on dipping into these a while ago but never had the time and am now thrust into it. And my linux skills are still fairly basic, maybe intermediate at best.So here’s what I have:The configuration, not that I think it matters, but is a Ubuntu VM running on a Synology NAS with a virtual disk mounted to the VM. I upgraded from v11 to v12 but the repository became unavailable during this process. I have a basic question. I am using VMWare ESXi Free license and the Free Veeam Backup. Was using just the Windows Agent for a long time but am now using the Backup and Recovery 12. I have an OLD ESXi host running a Windows 2012 Essentials server, and a new ESXi host I am transferring it to for legacy purposes. For Testing I originally just copied the Virtual Machine files to the new box, registered the VM and that worked. When I finally decided to actually move the machine I tested by restoring a backup from Veeam windows agent to the VM as a bare metal recovery. This worked the first time, and the second time. I was testing on the weekends after hours so there was a week between. The next week I decided to actually do it following the procedure that had been successful previously. The restore said it completed successfully, but the server would not boot normally and went to the Recovery Console. In a customer environment today we faced the issue that all HANA plugin backups all of a sudden stopped backing up:Session failed: Unable to process the workload: your license has been exceeded In VBR’s license dialog I found the plugins to consume VUL licenses all of a sudden - which there are only the 6 complimentary ones. The plugins run on VMs already under socket licensing and that worked for years.Has anyone seen this already? How does VBR actually determine if the plugin resides on a VM? This process seems to be impaired here.Case is open. Support is digging through plugin logs. ThanksMichael
Hi, sorry for the noob question, but when backing up VM’s on Hyper-V, what is the difference between backing up the VM’s via Virtual Infrastructure vs. backing up the disk the VM files are stored on via Physical Infrastructure? Is it just on recovery, it’s easier to restore the VM’s directly vs. having to restore each of the VM files such as the vhdx files?Thanks!
Hello everyone.Am not sure if this is the write place to ask this..I forgot the encryption password i have set for my veeam backups, and i want to access the veeamBackup database to get the encrypted password and decrypt it as the online manual says. But as soon as i login to the database with sql server studio with the windows authentication settings, the Veeambackup is not accessible. The sa user is not active. This manual here ‘How to install Veeam Backup and Replication 11 Community Edition with a dedicated SQL Server | Veeam Community Resource Hub’ is exactly the same as my setup, but as soon as i get to the part there i am suppose to open the database VeeamBackup to see the tables etc, i get an error ‘The database VeeamBackup is not accessible’. Also added a screenshot below to show it.Any help on what am i doing wrong?Thank you

Hi everyone,we have a file to tape backup job and we wanted to browse the contents of a tape. upon clicking on properties of that tape, we see two tabs (General and Jobs) and we can see just the backup jobs (Have attached screen shot). On the Veeam user guide it states that you can see the actual contents on a particular tape and the two tabs shown on their screenshot are General and Files. (please refer link below)https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/viewing_backup_sets_on_tape.html?ver=120 Any ideas on how we can achieve this and see files just like in the user guide, instead of jobs? Hi folks, I have a little doubt about this kind of backup and I need to clarify it. Our client ask us what’s happens when there are users in multiple groups, and a backup job for single group. I know Veeam manages the backup to avoid unnecessary duplication and save storage space. Is correct to say if a user is in multiple groups and these groups include overlapping items (for example, the same mailboxes or SharePoint sites etc), Veeam takes an approach to avoid duplicate backup?But really question is: In these cases VEEAM send a warning for those backup jobs? I never tested it and I appreciate your experiences in O365 backup.Thanks all

I know it’s late on a Friday, but I wanted to get this out of my head and off my mind before I forgot. For our internal backup infrastructure, I’m the proud owner of a new Dell PowerEdge R550 with lots of space on local disk. It’s going to replace a Synology RackStation that is slowly dying and is several years old. The new server also has dual 25Gb connectivity (and dual 1Gb connectivity) that will allow me direct ISCSI access to our PowerStore 500T array. This server will be the primary backup repository for our primary site. I am aware that if set this server up as a VHR/LHR, I cannot utilize direct storage access because functions required as a proxy server are not available when the server is hardened. If I choose to forgo the direct storage access capabilities as a proxy server and move forward with a LHR, are there any caveats of using a LHR as your primary repo? If you want to restore a deleted Exchange mailbox (on-prem), you first have to create an empty mailbox within Exchange for the user. This has already been described earlier: https://forums.veeam.com/veeam-backup-replication-f2/restore-deleted-mailbox-with-veeam-explorer-for-exchange-t16174.html Challenge is, while creating a new mailbox you also create a new ID for it. This leads to loosing some functionality (permissions to folders for 3rd parties etc., recurring appointments, etc.). Is there another known way to recover the mailbox including its original ID?I would rather have expected VEXE to create the mailbox for me while recovering - including all metadata.

Hi, I already create an account for my client and then they should send an email of invitation link to my client email address but my client do not received the invitation link. The next step is create password for the account but I cannot proceed to the next step because my client do not received the invitation link email.I tried to re-register using the same email address but it said the email already been used. There is an option to restore access to your account, I click the option and it asked an email address. I put my client email address, but it said “Failed to send”. Is there anything I can do to login to my client account?

I have 3 issues that I cannot resolve nor find answers to.I’m running the Windows Community Edition V5.0.0.4708 on two Windows machines. One is Windows 10 22H2 and the other is Windows 11 21H2. These two machines are being backed up to a file share on my TrueNAS server.The first issue is that from time to time the backup fails with the following error message: “Error: The network path was not found. Failed to get free space on disk '\\xxx.yyy.zzz.nnn\Clients' --tr:Error code: 0x00000035 … The network path was not found”. I configured the back to use either host name or IP address as the backup target, but it seems to make no difference. This happens on both machines.I thought that it might be a timing issue that when the computer wakes up to do the backup, the backup starts before the computer has established a network connection. Hi all,today I updated my Veeam Agents Free for Windows to the new version 6.x. I read about this version is no longer using SQL Express LocalDB and this is also written in the release notes.
