Guten Morgen, nachdem meine Backuppläne top funktionieren (Danke an alle) möchte ich noch mein O365 verbinden, sodass ich tägliche Berichte bekomme.Ich bekomme jedoch keine Verbindung mit meinem O-365. Ich kann auch nicht “TLS/StartTLS” angeben. Sondern nur SSL. Ich habe schon ein wenig rumgesucht, jedoch wird mir immer nur gesagt “Nutze TLS/StartTLS”. Viele Grüße und Danke
Hi Id like to find out what people think the best course of action would be in my circumstances. we have an agent backup job that was running on a WSFC failover cluster file server. this was backup up to a SOBR which was tiered to AWS We have just removed the WSFC cluster in favour of single servers, I have had to create new backup jobs within Veeam (cant use clustered type for non clustered) which was fairly easy my question is what do to with the old jobs, they have backup data attached to them in performance capacity tiers which I don’t want to accidentally remove but I am unsure whether it is best to just disable the job, or remove the protected volumes from the jobs, but I think that if I disable or remove the selections that Veeam wont be able to manage the retention policies thanks!
I have setup a new server on our network. Connected to domain, network, hyper-v installed and I am unable to add this server to the Virtual Infrastructure > Microsoft Hyper-V > Standalone Hosts > (server). I have my Veeam server trying to contact our new server and there seems to be a road block. I am running Veeam V11a trying to setup a new 2019 windows server. During the hyper-v setup process I have added the name and/or IP address, I have selected the last option (standalone) which matches the description of the new server. My credentials do work because I ran a test to setup a VM running server 2019 and I was able to set that up right away. For some reason the physical server is blocking the Veeam connection. Is there a firewall exception I need to add? I did attempt to manually add the physical server to Veeam so the agent might create its own firewall exceptions. I was unsuccessful at that as well.

Good evening folks,got a question for you, hopefully the last one before Christmas, for an “issue” I’ve got with Veeam.B&R has a job that backups a list of vms, and that’s all good.Then I add a vCenter in the structure, and vCenter updates all nodes’ certificate.Ok.At this point, B&R Console needs a refresh and it’ll see all vms as new ones.Perfect, but.Next backup Veeam will save them as full backup, creating a duplicate of the vm in the backup file.Is there any way to avoid it?
Hi all, I am using Veaam Agent on a pc with only one hard drive which has two operating systems (W 11 + Ubuntu 20.04).Is it possible to create a job to backup the complete hard disk (W11 + Ubuntu + Boot partition)?Thank you
New job and one of my tasks is to cleanup VEEAM. Trying to make sure the backup settings are correct and consistent. I’m also renaming the jobs in a logical and consistent manner. First couple of renamed jobs ran last night. I was surprised that a) they did not take a new full and b) they did not create a new folder. I’m using Reverse Incremental. Can I safely rename the folders to reflect the name of the jobs?Will the vbk and vbm ever rename to the name of the job? I assume I can’t rename those manually.

Hi,I need to find a way for backup verification test for agent backup systems. These are physical machines. (sql, exchange, oracle). VMs are working fine. I could do manually or script based instant recovery to vmware. But those tests would be in production an not seperated in a virtual lab. Any ideas? I’ve used Veeam Backup & Replication V10 solutino; have File-level-backup jobs, Synthetic full backup, local repo, and use Optimal Data Compression.My issue is, High and Extreme Data Compression does not compress The Backup.my backups took massive sotrage, why is the compression not working?
I am currently trying to upgrade to version 11 . The first upgrade failed with an error as it could not start the services. I have just tried to run the repair and I am receiving a different error "veeam configuration database is in use by the backup server " I have no idea how to proceed.
Hi I use veeam v11 Enterprise plus solution to back-up my environnent. Veeam is installed in all-in-one configuration a local physical server.I bought a google cloud storage in order to get an other copu of my datas on the cloud.I created a SOBR on my backup infrastructure, with a local NAS as performance Tier and GPC bucket as capacity tier with the copy operation.This operation succeeded and i see on GPC administration page a Veeam/Archive folder.Then i created a job to back-up a small folder in order to try it.The job succeeded with a warning regarding to cache serve limited space.In local repository i can find backup files, but on the bucket ther is nothing.I don’t understand why i have no error message but i can’t see backup files on the GPC bucket ?

Hi, I’m hoping someone can point me in the correct direction. I have Veeam B&R Community edition server running on my Windows 10 workstation. I do backups of the O/S drive daily and monthly, the user data hourly and monthly and the VM drive daily and monthly.I wanted to have bare-metal recovery but it turns out that Veeam’s bare metal recovery only works if the backups are taken by a Veeam Windows agent implementation. I tried this but because I am already backing data using B&R the agent policy fails.How can I get a bare-metal recovery option?I used to use Windows backup but I keep getting issues with other drives getting flagged as required and that blows out the space required for the Windows backup.Thanks in anticipation.Bob
When backing up o365 data if I am using DAS like windows or linux, does the repository requirements remain same as for veeam backup & replication?
We are trying to commission a new Veeam hardened repository for off-site backups (Backup Copy jobs). we have put the server behind internal NAT (i.e. using a private IP not an internet IP) as we feel this will improve the security. Backup jobs work but Backup Copy jobs do not and I am getting the impression that NAT is the problem. The primary repository is trying to communicate with secondary with its ‘real’ IP rather than the NAT IP. Can this be overcome?

Hey guys I have a query,If I want to perform an azure SQL backup in veeam backup for azure and I choose staging server to process, what are the things I need to keep in mind when using staging server i.e, how can I add a staging server to veeam backup for azure, which region should the staging server be deployed? and while choosing staging server should I choose credentials of staging server or SQL ? If it is staging server how is it going to backup the SQL workloads without sql credentials ?

i have on going PoC for Veeam VBR. customer want to take a Physical Machine back up(Dell Server) and want to restore it in another physical server(HPE server). is it possible or not.
We have provisioned VBR in production, tecnically with compute and storage. Can we replicate the recovery points from prod VBR to VBR dr? In dr, we will provion as well VBR dr resources. upon checking with veeam, they can replicate in the dr but the source is the vcenter prod as well, meaning 1vbr is enough as long as they vcenter in dr.
