Hi, I’m wondering if anyone could help? I’m currently doing a PoC with Veeam Orchestrator. I have on-prem vsphere 7.0.3 and a Azure VM with Veeam Orch 7.0.0.337 installed. I’m trying to create a recovery location but cannot get past the network mappings. I can successfully see and add my “target network” (azure) but when I choose my source vSphere network, there are no options to select network. Vcenter is currently showing as connected in Veeam, I have used local SSO credentials as well as my domain credentials - both times status shows as connected but same outcome when selecting the source network.Has anyone seen anything similar or has any suggestions?Many Thanks!
Hi, I’m currently using K10 in a “no-local, all S3” policy, meaning that every local snapshot made for backups has to be immediatley deleted once it has been exported to S3, as seen here : I have no problems with backups whatsoever, but I do have a pile (1700+) of VolumeSnapshots that are not deleted. Updated 12.1The environment described in this architecture is one main datacenter containing 1,000 VMs and 100 physical servers. Each VM and physical server has an average of 200 GB of used storage space. All backups will be targeted to a primary backup repository and copied to a secondary offsite location. Proxies are installed on a physical server and use the network transport (NBD) method. The backup target will be ObjectFirst Ootbi set for Immutability and accessed via Gateway servers.

Hi, for this year’s world backup day I’ll be providing two posts on topics that I believe are important for data protection, this is the first one: SLAs & Exceeding them!So, what is an SLA? An SLA (Service Level Agreement) is typically an accepted standard for a service. In the case of data protection, SLAs might be RPOs (Recovery Point Objectives) or RTOs (Recovery Time Objectives). The metrics measured by these are already well defined from various others so I won’t go over old ground here, but they are important for the topic at hand.Typically any organisation will have an RPO, the maximum tolerance for data loss when restoring from backup. There might be multiple RPOs depending on the “tier” of the service being protected. 24 hours for a reporting server but 1 hour for a SQL database as an example.Whenever I engage with a customer and look at configuring backups, I’ll ask for how frequently they want to backup their data, and the frequency I’m given always equals the RPO for th
vCenter shows disk consolidation requested by Veeam but also displays percentage of completion. What's a good plan to be able to restart the Windows DB VM? See screenshots below.From what I know, it is not a good idea to reboot while consolidation is going on. However, this has been going on for at least 2 days and the DB residing on the server is performing poorly. I have requested the DB folks to try to restart the DB instead of the server but in the event that this would be the only option that is left to do, what is a good way to go about doing a VM reboot. I have disabled the job in Veeam and has cancelled another Veeam request to vCenter to run another consolidation (thoe one showing 0%).

I've been using Veeam Agent for Windows for a bit, and have successfully used backups to restore individual files. I wanted to upgrade my NVME system drive to a larger one, so I figured I would try using the restore.I made sure my Windows 10 was up to date, updated Veeam to the latest version, created a new recovery ISO, and created a fresh backup. I then swapped in the new NVME and booted from a recovery USB. I stepped through the wizard, selected system volumes only (there is a data SSD I don’t need to restore); I did not use the Manual restore.After it copied everything to the new drive I rebooted, and then was stuck in a boot loop which ultimately ended in a recovery environment. Looking through the manual, there is a note about driver injection, so I tried again and disabled driver injection, still stuck in a loop. I put the original NVME back in and started looking for answers - any insight appreciated.

I was, to say the least, ‘green behind the ears,’ as the saying goes. It was also my first time navigating the world of an office environment and working with remote offices.Let me start by setting the scene. Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2003 R2 were the Server Operating Systems installed on bare metal boxes. Windows XP was THE Operating System of choice, and Windows 7 had just been released. The word ‘virtualisation’ was not even something we came across. We pretty much had dedicated hardware for each server role required. Domain controller? Physical box running that role. File Server? Another dedicated box for that role. SQL Server? Yet another dedicated box. You get the picture. This, in turn, required a large amount of space to house all the servers. Buongiorno, ho cercato nel gruppo ma non ho trovato al risposta.Vado ad esporre il mio problema.Ho alcuni Job di Backup di VM di vSphere a cui ho impostato una certa “Retention Policy” in giorni, prendendone uno, per esempio “25 days” con impostato un “Remove deleted items data after” in 7 days … però se vado nel repository vedo che i file che hanno più di 32 gg non vengono cancellati! Ora il quesito è:- c’è un comando/procedura per forza la cancellazione dei file che eccedono la policy??? Grazie.
Curious as to why by default is the B&R console installed along with a new B&R server install in v12?Security best practices say to run the console on a separate stand alone computer, using a local credentials, and on a separate network or VLAN.This being the case one would think that there would be an option during the install process to include the console or not. I ask, because I am inherently lazy and would rather watch dog videos than go through the hassle of removing the console from the server. Also best practices should be easy to implement so all admins implement them.
When I quickly setup Veeam 365 Backup, I had to use on premise disk that I had available. I have since purchased basic storage and am trying to move my backup repository from the temporary storage to the new storage.I’m using the recommended Move-VBOEntityData tool and it is horrible. I have migrations in excess of 60 hours to move a 50 GB mailbox backup. And it isn’t my hardware. Performance tests show that read/write performance is exponentially faster. The tool itself in combination with the JetDB architecture is the problem.And while using this tool, I can’t do backups. Which put in me in an untenable situation of no backups for 2-3 weeks while I try to complete this migration. Researching this in the R&D Forums show others having the same performance issue.Because of that, I am done. Hi Team,I am in the process of getting my head around the set up of Veeam at my organization.It is a Service Providing company and we got VSPC configured too.We have configured the default report produce out of VSPC console for tenant backups. However, i am wondering is there a better tool to effectively monitor the backup jobs of the tenants, and also to identify any bottlenecks of resources if a backup job is failed?Appreciate if someone could guide me on developing (if needed) a script to retrieve the above requested information, or if there is a third-party tool that can be integrated with the VSPC server, please?Thank you so much in advance.Kind regards,Andrew
Hello everyone,I'm new to this forum and using free Veeam agent on windows 10 and 11 to make a full backup to a synology DS224+ NAS. Both on latest firmware/version.But after the step finalizing the snapshot, I get the error message that veeam could not resolve the IP of the cifs share. But I can access the share via explorer and the veaam configuration files are safed to this share. So it's working.Did not find any threads for this problem.Appreciate your help and tipps!Best regards

We have Veeam pushing a couple of Nutanix clusters. Jobs are split between the clusters and Nutanix is replicating between the two clusters so if one goes down…Issue that we’re seeing is when Veeam is backing up a server, snaps are being created to do the backup. Replication between the two Nutanix clusters is seeing the snap and replicating it to the second node. Since the snap doesn’t have a retention set, Nutanix is setting the snaps for 60 day retention. When we’re starting to deal with file servers north of 20tb, this becomes and issue. Is there anyway to force Veeam to set a short retention on snaps or is this something Nutanix should address?Thanks in advance.
