Veeam 365 Repository Management Has Forced My Hand

When I quickly setup Veeam 365 Backup, I had to use on premise disk that I had available. I have since purchased basic storage and am trying to move my backup repository from the temporary storage to the new storage.I’m using the recommended Move-VBOEntityData tool and it is horrible. I have migrations in excess of 60 hours to move a 50 GB mailbox backup. And it isn’t my hardware. Performance tests show that read/write performance is exponentially faster. The tool itself in combination with the JetDB architecture is the problem.And while using this tool, I can’t do backups. Which put in me in an untenable situation of no backups for 2-3 weeks while I try to complete this migration. Researching this in the R&D Forums show others having the same performance issue.Because of that, I am done. I am already competitive bidding 365 backup solutions, and I will be bailing on the Veeam 365 backup platform as soon as I can.Repository management is a critical operation, and from what I can

RHEL 9.3 Failed to download metadata for repo 'veeam': Cannot download repomd.xml

Hello, Running free community edition Veaam backup agent for Linux on RHEL9.3. For the past few days I am getting an error when checking for the update from Veaam repository. This is the same repo I initially used to install the agent. Is there another Veeam repo that I can use for RHEL9? File share secondary job problem

Hello.This is my first post here.Please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong. I'm using Veeam Community version 12.1.1.56 and since I updated to this version, my "file share" backups have been experiencing issues.I have two backup jobs of this type.The problem I'm going to report only occurs when I activate the option "Configure secondary destinations for this job" within "Backup Repository" in the job properties.If I create a backup job now, it will execute the task normally. However, on the following days, Veeam starts to encounter problems. Calling Veeam Backup Jobs Remotely

We are in the middle of migrating from Rubrik to Veeam. We have some Rubrik backup jobs that are called by our scheduling software, Tidal. The process is as follows:Tidal calls the pre processing backup job for our loan accounting system Tidal is informed of the successful backup, then it moves on to other jobs. These other jobs include all nightly cycle type items for any financial institutions like, sync’ing up general ledger with loan accounting, then with financial reporting systems, etc.. Basically this aligns all core financial systems for a “start of day” state and is a critical restore point for us. Finally, Tidal calls the post processing backups to create that restore point. Tidal is made aware of that successful backup and our nightly cycle processes are marked as completed successfully.We’ve been working with our Veeam account rep but we haven’t yet found a way to replicate this process with Veeam. Agent Backup of Windows Machines on Network with Veeam B&R 12.1 CE

Hi, I am trying to backup the Windows PC’s on my LAN using Agent backup and am having the same issue as the person on this post: https://forums.veeam.com/servers-workstations-f49/creating-new-backup-in-protection-group-issue-t79935.html I have read the issue several times and I don’t think I understand the terminology being used. And I have successfully installed Agent on my Windows machine and executed the command to connect to B&R. I also see the machine on B&R. Ideally, I would like to schedule backup jobs for this machine and also be able to run adhoc backups using the B&R console.Is this possible? Thank you, Hammer

Monitoring tenant's backup jobs of VSPC console

Hi Team,I am in the process of getting my head around the set up of Veeam at my organization.It is a Service Providing company and we got VSPC configured too.We have configured the default report produce out of VSPC console for tenant backups. Linux Kernel Exploit - CVE-2024-1086

It appears there has been a noticed exploit vulnerability in Linux Kernels v5.14 up to v6.6. The exploit seems to be a “privilege escalation from unprivileged user to root user. And, it should be noted that the exploit can read/write any physical memory on the device, but uses it to become root user. An important note is that the exploit requires nf_tables to be present, and unprivileged user namespaces. Hi Guys, I am new to Veeam and i really want this to work cuase i really like Graphical interface and method of doing this. But i have made several attempts and recreated a new repository and backup jon and every time i backup to my nas through SMB I get a failed backup job! Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure appliance errors after applying updates

Hi, Yesterday, we applied the available updates to our Veeam appliance through Veeam Updater UI. There were several updates available and they all were successfully installed and the appliance were rebooted all fine. After applying the updates, we started to see this warning in our Azure portal under this Veeam appliance vm:"Virtual Machines in your subscription are running on images that have been scheduled for deprecation. Once the image is deprecated, new VMs cannot be created from the deprecated image. Upgrade to newer version of the image to prevent disruption to your workloads."As a result, our Azure site recovery replication for this appliance was broken between our primary region UK South to the secondary region UK West. When tried removing and reenabling the replication, it throws the error below:"Site recovery extension does not support the Linux operating system kernel version running on the source machine. Hey Community -Sorry to be the bearer of unpleasant security news as of late, but better to be proactive rather than reactive, as they say, right? 🤷🏻‍♂️It appears the Agenda Ransomware group, which was first detected in 2022, has been ramping up infiltrations recently. Is it Possible to Backup A Windows Server Using the Google Cloud Instance?

I have a Veeam instance on the google cloud using there deployment which I'm using to backup some instances to a bucket. I want to be able to backup my on prem servers to the same bucket. is it possible to connect the servers to the Veeam google instance? Do i need to install an agent to be able to do this? or can I just point the instance to my on prem servers?

Hi, We have installed kasten helm charts via Rancher. Now I am trying to resize the catalog pvc, but cannot do it in rancher as will over write when new version helm chart is deployed..In App yaml file all I see is a resource “catalog-pv-claim” is created but no size is mentioned, I can’t find where the actual size is mentioned.
