Reset MFA on Service Provider Console Login

Perhaps the Service Provider section of the R&D Forums is a better place to ask, but I figured I’d check here to see if anyone has an easy button for resetting MFA on an AD login specified by AD group for an Admin in the Service Provider Console. I reloaded my phone and the Duo app didn’t import my 3rd party MFA logins. Fortunately, I have other admin logins I can use.So far what I’ve gotten is that you have to apparently use the REST API (which seems silly to me if that’s the case, feature request coming up…..) because the user only exists in an AD group that was specified for access. While I’m not great with API’s, the the Swagger UI should make things easier. That said, I haven’t yet figured out how to authenticate with Swagger using an account that has MFA enabled. I might be able to get it once I get past that hump. I was hoping that if I disabled the MFA requirements, I could log in and reset MFA from the user access, but it appears to prompt for MFA once enrolled even if

Looking forward to Hyper-V 2025

With the recent announcement that Hyper-V is strategic to Microsoft, as the main focus of Server 2025 you can imagine I've spent more time on the topic than usual lately. I normally don’t post on here, but I figured I'd share. To get the basic stuff out of the way, yes you can Instantly Recovery ‘any’ workload to Hyper-V, and it can be automated with PowerShell - it will probably make it easier at scale. And for those new to Hyper-V with Veeam, on-host backup processing is the way to go. Did you know we recently updated the user guide to explain how Veeam selects VM generation upon arrival?Veeam supports Azure Stack HCI too, and it has been on a much faster release cadence, so a lot of the features may have been seen before - but I think the key take away is that, there is significant forward motion for Hyper-V, and a continued path to purchasing perpetual licenses for it.I wish that central management of Hyper-V was addressed a bit differently. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 10005

I’ve installed Veeam with a 30 day evaluation license. It works fine for VMs. However, when I try to back up the physical host using a Windows Agent, I get the error:Managed session has failed: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 192.1YY.1.XX:10005The endpoint running the agent can ping the backup server, and the backup server can ping the endpoint. They are all domain joined devices. There is no firewall between the endpoint and the server other than Windows Defencer with Advanced Security and all of the necessary Veeam in and out rules are present. Nutanix Community Edition in Proxmox, Part 1 Initial Setup

Nutanix has been around for sometime but I have only recently decided to take a peak at it.I am going to install a single node cluster nested in my Proxmox homelab.First step is to create your Nutanix account (free) and login. Head to the Nutanix Community Edition page by pressing launch.Press Launch under Community EditionISO and InstructionsDownload the ISO and then upload into your Proxmox. Now time to setup the VM. Hello, I’m actually testing surebackup with a sql server always on cluster.Setting to test default SqlChecker script.Unfurtunatelly, it seems not to be working well.All the databases (exepts system db) are in RECOVERY_PENDING state in the mounted vm lab.Is surebakup working for always on clusters ?Am I missing something ? thanks for your help.Fred

Significant increase in incremental backup size (Microsoft 365)

As of the 27th March we have seen a significant increase in incremental backup size for our Microsoft 365 backup… Peaking at 800GB+ on the 31st! We have different jobs configured for different sources, for example we have separate jobs for:User Mailboxes Shared Mailboxes SharePoint Sites OneDrive SitesLooking at the size of each backup job, I think the increase in backup size is primarily due to the user mailbox jobs; the other jobs look ‘normal’ in terms of their size. Is anyone else seeing a sudden increase in backup size in the last couple of weeks? Does anyone have any tips for pinpointing where the increase is coming from?

It looks like malicious code has been added to the Linux data compression program xz, which might result in a backdoor. The library's 5.6.0 and 5.6.1 versions should have the code. The xz repository and the xz tarballs have both been "backdoored," according to the discoverer's post on Openwall.https://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2024/03/29/4 RedHat filed the CVE today, and it now has a preliminary criticality score of 10: https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2024-3094 In addition to Red Hat, several other Linux derivatives are affected. Hey Community -Let’s start off the Group by sharing some of the ways you use which best helps you prepare for the VMCE.I’ll start:For me, first and foremost, I follow the VMCE Exam Guide. From there, I go through the vSphere User Guide from top to bottom….yep, you read that correctly, from top to bottom...and read through only what I call the high-level sections of it for those sections I’m least familiar with.What is a “high-level” section? They are the sections which generally start with “About <topic/section>”, for example, About Backup, or How Replication Works, etc. I then go on to the Limitations and Considerations of each section. I rarely go through the actual install/implementation steps (these are what I consider “deep-level” sections), unless I’ve never done so in my environment or lab.After I do the above, I then go through and skim through sections of the Guide I am most familiar with just for review as there are generally quite a few detailed things I’ve forgotten.L

Oracle plugin backup is stuck in stopping state.

Hi All, Anyone faced this issue or any fixes to resolve this. Hi everyoneI run the Solution Architects team at Veeam for the Americas. My team have been working on updating and extending capacity calculators for use by the Veeam team, partners and customers. We worked in close collaboration with Product Management, R&D (i.e. Gostev's teams) and our CIS team to overhaul the formulae and update the user experience. VBR 12.1 - Quick Migration Show no Processing Rate When Job Completed

I’m not sure if this is an existing issue or new, however, when doing a Quick Migration in VBR 12.1, I see no processing rate of the job when completed. In VBR 11, we would get a XYZ MB/s or GB/s in that “area”. Any ideas? Can this be found in logs? Some DB table (how to connect to DB if so)?

Stuck VMDK From the Veeam Proxies

Hey guys,I have the same random problem with my Proxies (Windows), VMDK are still attached to my proxies randomly once the job finish. The proxies are not backuped during the different backup jobs. The Vms that Veeam processed is found to require consolidation.On the vmware side I found a log " Unable to access file since it is locked An error occurred while consolidating disks: Failed to lock the file. Consolidation failed for disk node 'scsi0:0': Failed to lock the file." at the end of the backup job.But I don’t find the root cause. Have any of you ever encountered this problem?

Hey everyone,We've encountered an issue with our immutable backup setup. We've configured our Ubuntu server to shut down after completing the backup, turning it on before initiating the backup process. As a result, the server shuts down at 1 AM every day after finishing its backup routine.However, once a week, we receive the following error message. I've been able to resolve it by deleting the file, but it keeps reappearing. Is there a way we can extend the immutability time to avoid this issue recurring? A problem occurred during setting the immutable flag: repository time shift detected, immutability flag cannot be set.
