Whoa Fun Love Friday! Thanks @bp4JC ! I mean it, Rick. You all are amazing. I have never seen a company like Veeam and it’s a shining example of what a company of Veeam’s size can and should be and they have a great propensity for hiring amazing people, and it shows. Well we put a lot of effort into it! Me, but really @Madi.Cristil is running it so well now.
The case closing quickly is likely due to Community Edition (the free product) and something not “broken” but agree it's not making sense. On this site we can’t supersede case operations; but I understand why it wasn’t handled on free edition.I actually didn’t know that Community Edition does job to tape, I thought it only did file to tape. I’ll share it internally to see what I can find out.(Tab open for a long time and Rickatron returns...)This is interesting: HPE LTO-7 Ultrium on Veeam shows only 5Tb instead of 15 Case #05095184-Are the tapes formatted a certain way/size? (less likely)-Is compression getting us on actualities here? (more likely)Both are discussed in this (IMHO) similar thread over on R&D Forums.

Hello friends! Thank you for your responses. The license was purchased for 9.5, the purchase of a new license is not planned. Technical support has ended. Is it possible to fix the problem in my version 9.5? You could try with the community edition (free capabilities) in newer versions. Or use the Agent in the guest VM.
Oh this is a good thread. Would love to see this play out. I can’t find the blog I did in like 2010 or so on it, but I had these *MASSIVE* file shares on iSCSI volumes on Windows. There were about ¾ a Billion files that were all like 45Kb each. I used FastSCP to copy them to a target as a migration. Hilarious at the time that Veeam FastSCP helped me move a physical server’s volume… At that time Veeam’s backup products were VM image based only.
Well, Just got told I need to add another 50TB to this server, and I have another 300TB incoming, It’s quite critical too. I’m going to have to create a few servers most likely to spread the load, but maybe I’ll do a test in Veeam after to see how long it takes. *Sigh* I’m going to need a few more SANs just for backup data, and a few in production. lol. Whoa, Scott! Pushing it!
My largest is about a 120TB file server….which is getting ready to grow as the client is starting to put a lot of 4k video on it. It’s been rough getting it through error checking backup defrags. Unfortunately, we don’t have enough space on the repo to setup incremental full’s due to size. It’s a process…..and we’re still trying to find a better way for it. The 120 TB File server is that a VM, NAS or Lin/Win System?
My biggest vm being backed up was a “Giant” 2TB SQL Server, and a 1.5TB Oracle Server. they were not so big, but very critical, both running in Mechanic Discs, so the backups took so long to perform, and some times, the machines jammed, so they were backed up at night, out of working ours, and every time we did a change, fingers crossed for not messing the Full backup. 😂. I was made aware of an 18TB Oracle backup (with the RMAN plugin)
