ISC2 Training, Exam and Membership

Congratulations again Geoff!!! One thing I don't like about this certification is that you have to pay a fee to maintain it annually. Which makes no sense for an entry-level certification.

Good one @marcofabbri! Since you have addressed some great features already such as the AI-based malware detection, and SIEM etc, I would like to add the “four eyes authorization" in Veeam Data Platform to the list. This is because, it can contribute to a more secure environment by adding a layer of control and oversight, making it more challenging for threat actors to establish command and control through unauthorized access and actions. In particular, this will help mitigate lateral movement by utilising the dual authorization of multiple individuals to authorise important actions (Human-in-the-Loop Security). You’re right, it’s even part of the new trust model. I’ll add that!!

Hello @DavideAbrigo , If “hacker” get switch management password with your option because the password is stored in a keepass and someone get the password of the keepass => game over.  In a proper configuration, all management devices should be accessible only on a separate VLAN. So a game over is caused by wrong network segmentation, not by credential harvesting :) I totally agree with you, IMM is a dedicated VLAN. However, you just need to have access to a workstation allowed to connect to this remote management and….  In big company, different people will manage network and backup but in smallest, it will often be the same people. I agree 100% about network segmentation but it’s just not enough to think it’s secured because you have VLAN and you can plug in the cable. Yeah, if we’re talking about internal threat, I absolutely agree!

BUT, as we discussed, is to solve a need to remote access to ILO.

Moving your blog, alternatives, methods?

Here in Italy, you can register domains for free for a year on Register.it, including WordPress hosting if they haven't changed their policy. That's where I registered my blog :)@dloseke that plugin is much interesting!! I definitely need to try that.

Retention Policy - Backup Copy Job with GFS

You can't create synthetic or active fulls for BCJs. Those jobs are only in the Forever Fwd method. You can only create additional GFS Fulls with it.  This. ⬆
