Really want to get my hands on a unit to test. 😂 🤣Is that not too much to ask for?  I meant for my company not me. 😜😂 You are on the secret list that is up for approval soon :), well not so secret now. By the way if anyone is interested in getting on the list DM me. Obviously if you are consultant, VASP or someone who might actually use these or advise people to use them (after you are satisfied with them) then make sure you mention that and I can push that as well :)  Good stuff! Very Unfortunate move by the Linux Foundation

Do not care so much about certifications. They are just a way to make money. In Germany, employers don't usually value certifications as much as they do in North America. I've seen people with dozens of certifications who were still unable to perform well. BTW, I prefer the model employed by ISC2, and ISACA by earning CPEs’ etc!

Veeam v12.1 Issues?

I have only had one error relating to Veeam ONE upgrade. In my quest to resolve this error, I have had three additional Windows errors. Veeam recommends and referenced this link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/iis/configuration/system.webserver/security/authentication/clientcertificatemappingauthenticationBut like I said, I have had other issues. I will resolve these issues and blog about them.

I have installed v16 for Postgres in a CentOS 8 VM without issue and moved a database to it. It is running fine and no problems. As long as the permissions are there everything will work. Same reason I would like to test with v16 also on Windows!

BSOD: "What failed: VeeamVolumeCT.sys"

So I used VBR to uninstall the CBT driver, so my laptop no longer crashes when I plug in my Kindle. Thanks, but I am still very confused. I get this scary warning, as I am doing something wrong and I do not understand it at all. “Failed to obtain changed block tracking map for volume EN10CDRIVE (C:), failing over to full scan based incremental backup“ I tried to search, but ”full scan” is very generic and did not yield results. Does a full scan mean that VAgent has to scan the entire C: volume sector by sector, file by file or scan the entire vss snapshot or what? Also, to ask, what is the purpose the scan? An anti-virus scanner scans for viruses. An VAgent scans for ??? Fix failed to create website error on installing Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager 12.1 with Microsoft Defender Advanced Thread Protection

@Iams3le Thank you for providing the information. Unfortunately, The SC seems to no longer work to stop the service in my case. (There is a policy to prevent it). On Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server, version 1803 or newer, Windows Server 2016, or Windows Server 2012 R2, you must set Microsoft Defender Antivirus to passive mode manually. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/defender-endpoint/switch-to-mde-troubleshooting?view=o365-worldwide Honestly, I don’t like to set passive mode for installing an application. I hope Veeam can solve this issue for the next patch if it’s a known issue. Gotcha! I also overlooked this “Microsoft Defender Advanced Thread Protection”. BTW, I will create a guide for my blog on how to set Microsoft Defender Antivirus to passive mode. Thank you for the post idea!

I love these kind of guides. @CarySun, do you have a primary AV running on this server? I assume it is a server since you are setting the Microsoft Defender Antivirus to passive mode. On client PC, this behaviour is by default. If I remember correctly, the “SC STOP servicename” should be able to fix this. I do not have a stuck service and cannot test this :-)
