Adding Multiple VCentres to one console

Yes, you can add multiple vCenters to one Veeam console.You need to have the appropriate network connection to each vCenter, then it’s no problem.

Wie schon vorher gesagt, kannst du diese Datenbank nicht mit DB Mitteln ins Filesystem sichern?Das kannst du dann ja als Pre-Backup-Script von Veeam ausführen lassen.Wenn die Datenbank dann nach einem Restore korrupt sein sollte, kannst du sie mit dem DB Backup wiederherstellen.

Veeam Backup Service completly stuck randomly

Mhh, under normal conditions you don’t have to do manual interventions, everything runs smoothly on it’s own.Did you open a support all? This is definitely not a normal condition.

primary and backup to Tape - GFS Backup Query

You don’t need to setup different media pools for daily, weekly, monthly, yearly backups - just use a GFS Tape job and it will organize all these backups in one mediapool.  It will  write daily, weekly, monthly, yearly backups data  to different tapes from that one mediapool. So it segregate backups, it will not dump the weekly& Monthly backups in one tapes.       It creates separate tapes for each “kind" of backups. You can distinguish them with the mediaset labels.

primary and backup to Tape - GFS Backup Query

Primary backup is configured with daily retention 14 days , synthetic on Sunday and GFS (Monthly - First,  Yearly- April) option and target to disk storage. Monthly - 1st of every month  Yearly - 1st of April  Now Backup to  Tape , above primary backups ,  incremental in incremental media pool , weekly synthetic  backups  to go in weekly media pool, monthly in monthly media pool, yearly in yearly media pool. like wise is this possible with GFS media pool configuration. You don’t need to setup different media pools for daily, weekly, monthly, yearly backups - just use a GFS Tape job and it will organize all these backups in one mediapool.

Hallo @thomas_s,menes Wissens nach unterstützt Veeam Docker nicht.Ich fürchte, du wirst die Datenbanken mit Bordmitteln ins Filesystem sichern müssen und dann die Maschine samt Container mit Veeam sichern.Kubernetes könntest du mit Kasten K10 sichern. Bei Docker bin ich nicht sicher, ob das geht. Und Kasten K10 kostet extra...

Swap repository for Backup and BackupCopy jobs ?

The format of the backup files of a backup job and a copy backup job is sligthly different. So, you cannot exchage them.Yon can swap the repositories in the jobs, but this will start a new backup chain.

MABS (DPM) and Veeam

The agent processes the data on the CSV.But you cannot backup the CSV itself and cannot create a snapshot of a VM with a CSV.So, you have create an empty VM  and create and attach the CSV. Then boot it with the recovery media to restore the OS and your data.

ONTAP 9.12.1P2 - Exceeding the 16 TiB LUN Limit and 100 TiB Volume Limit.

That was my thought, too. The IBM boxes have much higher LUN maximums for a long time.Never had problems on these systems with large LUNs… If there was a problem it was on the server side 😎

VMware snapshots instead of production data.

I think the existing snapshots are transparent for Veeam. The Veeam Snapshot create a fixed state of the VM including the already existing snapshots. So, the backups should be fine.Although, the existing snapshots prohibit the usage of changed block tracking (CBT). Therefor the speed of the backup will be slower than without additional snapshots.And the snapshots will fill up the storage of the cluster...

Interesting situation.Seems that the native AIX solutions for backup (mksysb, etc.) does not rely on the UUIDs.Thank you for the detailed description.
