Not allowed to access Non IPM folder.

We backup an O365 organization with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 7.1.0.1501. Everything went well, but tonight the backup of all mailboxes failed with error message: "Processing mailbox failed with error: Failed to get folder properties. Not allowed to access Non IPM folder." Also the backup of all teams failed with error message: "Failed to process team. Failed to get folder properties. Not allowed to access Non IPM folder." The backup of OneDrive and SharePoint worked properly. Any idea?

Error when adding hyper-v 2019 standalone on veeam B&R 11 installed in windows server 2016

Hi every body,Please i need help to add hyper-v2019 on veeam B&R11 installed in windows server 2016 standard virtual machine. When i add the host hyper-v2019 i have the error bellow :“Failed to connect to host Access denied or timeout expired.Check if you have local administrator privileges on computer .Possible reasons:Invalid credentials.Specified host is not a Hyper-V server. (System.Exception)”But i add hyper-v2016 on the same veeam B&R11 successfully.the account i use in veeam is added in the hyper-v 2019 host local administrator groupFile and printing share is active and authorized in windows firewall in the hyper-v 2019 host. i can open the folder \\hyper-v 2019 host\c$ successfully on the virtual machine in which veeam B&R11 is installed.Thanks

Veeam hardened repository configuration error while adding linux server

Hi, I am new to Veeam and trying to test Immutability. When i configure linux server as per the first step i am getting error. am i missing anything here? i tried enabling ports on Linux host still the same. 3/15/2022 3:58:56 PM Error    Testing Veeam Data Mover service connection Error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it IP_address :6162                              No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it ipaddress:6162

Veeam Upgrade issue.

I recently updated a client from Veeam 11, I think .816 to the latest version available. Everything went as usual as I do these quite often but this one is throwing a pop up that states, "unable to upgrade plug-ins under the current user, please open the console under an account with administrative privilege's:" when I launch Veeam. I am logged in as a local administrator account and have updated this client in the past with no issues.I just click on okay and it opens up like normal. I also checked for any updates to the managed machine and there is upgrade option. This is a stand alone Veeam system with no remote components.I don't think it's going to impact the functionality but will know more after tonight's job run.Appreciate any feedback!Thanks,Poettone!

VBO365: Object reference not set to an instance of an object (Teams)

I have just discovered on Twitter that there’s currently a problem with Teams Backup in Veeam Backup for Office 365 which could affect many installations.It looks like Microsoft did change something on their side and so Teams backup is failing with the following error: “Object reference not set to an instance of an object”If you are affected by this problem, you can request the hotfix from Veeam Support.Here is the corresponding R&D forums topic: https://forums.veeam.com/veeam-backup-for-office-365-f47/teams-backup-failing-with-object-reference-not-set-to-an-instance-of-an-object-t76162.html

Restore files from backup incremental to another location

Hello everyone, I need to restore “incremental backup” to another “new server” on the network.I have “export disk” to VHD from backup the “old server” and attach this disk to “new server”.In this moment I need to restore “incremental backup” to “new server”. Is this possible? Thank you

Rebuilding a Veeam Repository server

I have a customer that needed to rebuild the Windows VM that was acting as their Proxy/Repository server at their secondary site.    He is using all of the same IP information on the new server.   The repository itself is on a NetApp E-Series access via iSCSI.   Once the server is rebuilt, what is the process for getting it back into the B&R server.   If the server is the same name, will the B&R server just need to push out the Veeam proxy/repository services to the rebuilt VM or will we need to delete and re-add the proxy and repository to Veeam?   If we discovery the repository LUNs on the new VM via iSCSI will we need to re-scan the repository to discover the backups or will they just be there?If there is a process document for doing this it would be appreciated.

Fun Friday: What's the worst reason (or lie) for an outage you've ever had?

Happy Friday! It occurred to me I haven’t done one of these about data protection yet, so here we are. Tell us a short story of the worst excuse given for an outage you’ve experienced, here’s mine: Worst Excuse Given:Earlier this year, users of Amazon’s EU-CENTRAL-1 region had issues within a particular availability zone. Amazon claimed they had an increased API error rate and latencies for EC2 APIs and connectivity issues due to “an increase in ambient temperature within a subsection of the affected Availability Zone”.This is technically correct, as the datacentre was on fire!Corey Quinn on Twitter: "BREAKING: There is currently a fire in a data center that's part of @awscloud's eu-central-1 region. Backup Copys to Synology "Stg.CheckMetadataCorrupt"

Good morning; I have been having some problems with our current setup, I'm ok with smashing my hardware and starting over, but I want something I know will work! I am having issues with a backup copy job moving our backups off-site to another location.We have Veeam installed on a server in our primary data center, this server has 64TB, and all our primary backups are stored here. We have a backup copy job that pushes backups off-site over a VPN to Synology DS416play. At first, we set this up as an NFS share connected to a repository on the Veeam server; doing it, this was very slow, and backups failed. Then we changed this to an SMB share connected to a repository on the Veeam server; again, this was slow, and jobs would never finish.Then we created a LUN and attached the Veeam server with ISCSI creating a drive letter and pointing the repository to this. The ISCSI method increased the speed jobs were flying and working! But over time, we started getting "Stg.CheckMetadataCorrupt" erro

Veeam Backup - Infected Source/VM

If the source VMs have virus/infected, technically Veeam can backup that but can Veeam knows that the source is infected with virus/ransomware?

How long do you wait to roll out a new version into production?

I’m curious how long you all wait to update to the latest version, firmware, or software release in your production systems.  For me, I would say I am on the early end of the spectrum, but I usually try and roll things out to TEST first if I can and verify for a few days. This doesn’t always work as there are times it won’t fully mirror PROD. VMware is one I’ll try and wait a little bit due to some pretty significant issues in the past I have had with host failures.  Being extremely critical infrastructure downtime isn’t allowed AT ALL for us.  Another thing I use to decide is the support I get. With Veeam, I have had so many good experiences I am confident they will resolve my issue.  I also tend to keep my config backups and having to reinstall once or twice it’s quite doable in a pinch.

Query Veeam Vulnerabilities

Hi Community!Does anybody know, if is possible to query current Vulnerabilities in Veeam software? It should be possible to query the data automatically with APIs like Rest, XML, ... VCC Restore process from archive storage is concerning

We have been using VCC for two years. We keep a couple of months on performance storage and use GFS to move data to the archive storage.  The provider uses Wasabi for archive storage (news to us). We have never had the need to restore from archive until this week. After trying for two days the provider (a Veeam Platinum provider) has told us they must move the entire archive (app 160 TB , copy jobs from ten office locations) to their local repo, have us restore, and then move it back. Honestly the process is very concerning and we were never told of this.My question is has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal? Is the move of data down and back up to archive reliable (since we can’t test restores once its back there)?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated since I am very concerned about the integrity of our firms cloud backups.Also has anyone moved providers? Is there a migration process or similar? Charlie

ubuntu 22.04: mlocate

Hi,after backuping ubuntu ever since without problems, the first fresh installed ubuntu 22.04 came up with this warning message in our latest veeam b&r 11: Failed to index guest file system. mlocate was not found.   As since ubuntu 22.04 the package mlocate is just a transitional package to plocate, there is no mlocate binary.So I did a ln -s plocate mlocate  and expected the message to be gone - but it keeps reporting, that mlocate was not found. updatedb and locate do not show any errors:root@ubuntu2204:/var/log# updatedb -Vupdatedb (plocate) 1.1.15Copyright (C) 2007 Red Hat, Inc. Hi,We have a requirement of setting up a DR for VM’s running on Nutanix AHV to VMWare / Hyper-V running on HP server. Is this possible with Veeam ? Customer is using Veeam enterprise plus license. Please advise the possibilities.

Copyjob Best Practices: what are yours?

Hi, all I am wanting to get some insight and pick you all’s brains on your best practices when it comes to copyjobs. Here’s the situation I am in:I have backups servers that have fairly complex backups schedules that range from hourly backups to daily, and even weekly backups. Lately I have been running into copyjob failures that say “the restore point is locked by another job”. This is happening when primary backup file healthchecks, merges, or defrags run. I created a topic about this, last week, and @Chris.Childerhose gave me some good insight. I guess I am at take 2, at this point, and I need you all’s input. The problem is, I have no idea how to schedule the copyjobs around these schedules...there just really isn’t a way, and consequently, i don’t know of a way to avoid these failures. They used to not happen. It’s only been recently that they have started cropping up. I am also working with support on this, but I would love you all’s input and get some insight into how you all ta

Initial configuration Ubuntu Server regarding RAID and partition

Hello, I would like to try the immutable backup functionality of V11. A first trial was successful but I would like to continue. The repository machine is an older desktop PC where I have installed 4 x 1TB SATA HDD. How do I have to  configure the initial configuration script of Ubuntu in order to realize a 100GB RAID10 for the OS and the remaining space as RAID10 for the backup files? BRFrank
