Monitoring server and database server are placed on Flash datastore. Could you please help me to resolve the issue if there is misconfiguration?

Hey guys, I have a customer who has deployed veeam backup in two locations for backing up their workloads. Both veeam servers were on a different version(v11a and v11). A month ago the server running v11 ran into a issue and was cleared and I performed a patch update to make sure that they don’t run into that issue. This week we wanted to run a veeam cdp on v11a but the target server we tried to add issued a warning saying the target machine actively refused it. Does the patch update in v11 has something to do with it because this patch update has cdp support for vsphere or is it because of an issue from vmware?

Investigating another issue where 2 VM’s have GPU’s thus VMware will not allow a snapshot of the VM’s. I am sure this question has been asked before, how can I backup these VM’s? They are running on vSphere 6.7 and the machines are Red Hat Linux 8 using an NVIDIA GPU. Also have a question about the jobs. All the VM’s were added using the vCenter server at the top level. So when these VM’s fail it seems to me the entire job get’s killed. These 2 VM’s fail, then I get a message all VM’s have been queued for processing and then a job error/failure message and it ends.
I have been approached by Veeam to write blogs for them so I wanted to reach out to the community to see if there were specific topics of interest? Thinks like Cloud Data Protections, NAS Backups, CDP, etc. If there is something you would like to see let me know so that I can add it to my list. Appreciate the input from the vCommunity as always.
Afternoon! I raised a case with Veeam about the RTM that I don’t believe has made it into the GA in time so thought I’d mention here.Scenario:Latest Veeam v10a in a distributed deployment, with dedicated roles to each server. Attempting to upgrade to v11.Issue:When upgrading Enterprise Manager to v11 when it is the sole Veeam product installed, the main setup executable from the v11 ISO will incorrectly report that only v9.5u4b and above are supported for upgrading to v11.Workaround:After a discussion with Veeam support this is purely an issue with the main setup launcher reading an old attribute (this wasn’t elaborated on further). It is still supported to browse to the Enterprise Manager section of the ISO and run the installer from there. It will detect it is a supported upgrade path and install as expected.
Hello,I’m wondering what are you using for hardening Operating System? In my company we’re using:https://www.open-scap.org/ for Linux with profils from french cybersecurity agencyhttps://docs.microsoft.com/fr-fr/windows/security/threat-protection/security-compliance-toolkit-10 for WindowsI am convinced that hardening should be mandatory in production, don’t be afraid to deploy it with your images. It works very well for Veeam Servers.PS: You should never deploy the hardening after deploying the app, you could meet horrible bugs.
[Sorry for this OT, but that’s a severe worldwide bug]A major bug has hit the Microsoft Exchanges on premise since January 1st 2022, because of using a int32 variable that long exceeds the maximum value of 2,147,483,647 causing the service goes error and blocking the queue mail.A first solution released by the community was to disable the malware filtering service with the following powershell lines:Set-MalwareFilteringServer -Identity <nameserver> -BypassFiltering $trueRestart-Service MSExchangeTransportMicrosoft yesterday released a powershell .ps1 that tricks the service by “unlocking the month of December 2021 to infinite days”, so today would be 34 December 2021.https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/exchange-team-blog/email-stuck-in-exchange-on-premises-transport-queues/ba-p/3049447Honestly, I don’t know if this can be considered a good solution. For more updates, there’s a dedicated subreddit:https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/rt91z6/exchange_2019_antimalware_bad_u

Probably the following is widely known. But I did not know up to now and found out today. Maybe it is new for others too. After the Upgrade to v10, suddenly Linux VMs are not getting backed up any more, because defined guest interaction user was domain-based and could therefore not login into Linux VM. So solution would simply be to disable guest processing for this VM. Problem was, VMs were selected by vSphere Tags for this job. Fortunately solution is quite simple:Edit the job and got to Guest Processing and click Application Here you can see the selected vSphere Tag. When you edit this line, options are set for all VMs this Tag was assigned to. Press Add → VMs and Tags → expand Tag of choice → select exception VM Select new line and press Edit Set option as desired for this/these VM(s) That's it! This also works for custom Guest OS Credentials: BTW: If you suffer from the same behavior after upgrading to v10 (and probably to v11 as well): Curiously this is not a bug, it is a bu
